State of the RRARS - January 2025

Hello …

I have several things to cover, so please take note:

***First, I have decided to STEP DOWN as President and Net Manager of the RRARS, effective immediately.  The reasons are not important enough to detail here.

Things that the membership needs to address:

1) Election/ Selection of a new President.

2) Election/Selection of a Board of Directors.  Gary, KF0TW, Steve, N6RHQ are the Class of 2025. 

Mike, KJ7AWB is in the Class of 2026. 

Monty, KF0KUB, is in the Class of 2025. 

There is one vacancy in the Class of 2026 and one in the Class of 2027.

**The above four are appointments only - you may honor these appointments or start over with a general election..

3) Confirmation/Selection of Officers by the Board of Drectors.  Peter, N0XZN is the current Treasurer and is doing a fine job. I highly suggest that you reappoint him.  Peter will probably wish to appoint a new co-signer for the RRARS checking account.

**There is currently no Vice President nor Secretary in place.  These positions are to be appointed at the first meeting of the new Board of Directors.

4) Repeater Upgrades - Arrange for a tower climber and purchase a better repeater antenna for the Hancock repeater. The heliax assembly and hangers for this project are in my garage, and can be stored there until ready.  I may relocate them to Hancock at some point. I have keys to the repeater to give up as well.

**This repeater has not performed NEARLY as well as it did 25 years ago.  It used to perform like a regional repeater.   My advise is to make most of your investment into your antenna system and you will only cry once.

5) Marketing and Communications - Appoint a M/C Coordinator to manage the FB and web pages. 

6) Activities - Establish an Activities Committee to organize Field Day and other related activities.

7) Tuesday Net Control - A new NCS for Tuesdays will need to be appointed.

 

8) Net Manager - A new net manager will need to be appointed. Send all reports on the first of the month to n0...@arrl.net
