Hello,

I would like to make you all aware that the typing test available through a link on our WFC resource area computers has a high likelihood of expiring again next Wednesday, 2/28. DEED Fiscal is trying to process things as quickly as they can, but unfortunately concerns have been raised about our job seeker’s data security related to the typing test and the correct contractual language we need to have between the test vendor and DEED. I believe this situation will take more than a week to resolve. We may get lucky, but please prepare for the license to expire again on Wednesday.

Would you please pass this information along to the relevant resource area staff at the WFCs in your area? If this is not resolved by the end of the week, (I will keep you updated), then I would recommend at least posting a sign or two in resource areas alerting customers to the unavailability of the typing test for an indefinite period of time.

Below are links to some alternative typing test sites, (thank you to Leroy Kiecker, Lisa Odland, and Mike Yanda's team for these). I don't believe any of them provide the option for typing test results to be emailed to test takers, so test takers will have to print the test results screen.

Hopefully we will have this issue solved shortly and I will certainly let you know when we do.

Thank you,

Hello again,

The tying test has not been successfully renewed and will expire again tomorrow. I apologize for this delay. DEED Fiscal is working on the contractual issues preventing the timely renewal of this test. I would recommend at least posting a sign or two in resource areas alerting customers to the unavailability of the typing test for an indefinite period of time. Please refer to the message below for typing test alternatives to suggest to customers while we wait.

Thank you,

Hello,

The license for the typing test that is available to job seekers using our WFC’s resource area computers has been renewed and is available for use again on every resource area computer. If there are any issues please contact the MN.IT service desk. We’ll be certain to be on top of the expiration timeline next year.

Thank you,
Sean Bibus
