Is there a way to change the frame range being rendered in the controller like in previous versions.

It is still possible, but it might be hidden by default:

rrControl uses the settings from the rrSubmitter UI to hide/show settings by default.

“Collapsed” Groups are autoamtically hidden in rrControl.

You can change the settings via the rrSubmitter menu “Default Values”/“Edit via UI“:
