hello

so I'm doing a fresh install on a Kubuntu 14.04 machine (RR v6.02.50) and I get this message when trying to start rrClient or rrControl :
Fontconfig error: Cannot load default config file
07.12 13:51.54| CRF Critical Failure - Cannot mix incompatible Qt library (version 0x40806) with this library (version 0x40802);;   (-) rrConfig 6.02.50 64bit []
Aborted (core dumped)

I've googled "Cannot mix incompatible Qt library " and got a lot of occurence but didn't really find out how to solve it alone.

I tried to move all *Qt*.so from /RR/bin/lx64/lib directory and now I can see the UI's but I've got other messages poping :
07.12 14:23.20| WRN Bus::open: Can not get ibus-daemon's address.

thanks in advance
luc

well I solved the Qt thing with :

mkdir /RR/bin/lx64/lib/Qtlibs
mv
/RR/bin/lx64/lib/*Qt*.so.* /RR/bin/lx64/lib/Qtlibs
ln -s /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libQtGui.so /RR/bin/lx64/lib/libQtGui.so.4
ln -s /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libQtNetwork.so /RR/bin/lx64/lib/libQtNetwork.so.4
ln -s /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libQtXml.so /RR/bin/lx64/lib/libQtXml.so.4
ln -s /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libQtCore.so /RR/bin/lx64/lib/libQtCore.so.4

and it's now working

still the ibus thing but it seems to be another thing...

to get rid of the annoying "07.12 14:23.20| WRN Bus::open: Can not get ibus-daemon's address"  popup I installed ibus
sudo apt-get install ibus ,
then you have to reconfigure your keyboard / input methods.

using ibus seems to generate bugs with chrome ...
well at least no more popups

Hi

We just found out that there is one disadvantage to the solution to rename our qt libs to use the system libs instead.
If you have mixed linux distributions in your network, not all might have QT 4.8.x version installed.
We have compiled QT 4.8.5 for this case.
Replace your RR/bin/lx64/lib/... files with these ones: www.RoyalRender.de/download/QT_4.8.5_libs.tgz

I have the same / similar issue using Centos 7.

~~~~~~~~~~~
Cannot mix incompatible Qt library (version 0x40805) with this library (version 0x40806)
Abort (core dumped)
~~~~~~~~~~~

What should I do??

Hi

The link has slightly changed:
www.RoyalRender.de/download/Qt4.8.5_lib_linux.zip

These libs have been compiled for RR7 and RR8.

Hi,

We updated our systems to centos 7.5, and it looks like this issue has come back again...

Hi

As long as the Centos does not update the QT version, there is nothing we can do.

We might even update RR to the last Qt 4.8.xx version 4.8.7 instead of the currently used 4.8.6.

Holger Schönberger

Hi

Sorry, I thought you had read the whole forum thread.

We offer QT 4.8.5 files for these systems for RR 8.x.
Please see 2nd section of this help file:

PS: Or you could try to update QT on all machines with the command:
yum install qt

yes I used the files you linked to already - and this did fix the issue when we were on centos 7.4
but now we have updated to centos 7.5 - an the issue have come back. (using the files you have linked does not solve it for centos 7.5)

example output with the standard libs and with the replacement libs:

    Cannot mix incompatible Qt library (version 0x40807) with this library (version 0x40806)

    Cannot mix incompatible Qt library (version 0x40807) with this library (version 0x40805)

Sorry, my fault.
I assume it was the same message as before.

We have a new version, but the new LibPNG version of the new QT
version reports that a new PNG files we use have an deprecated color
profile at startup.
But this is just a warning that the colors might not be displayed right.
And the applications start at least:
www.RoyalRender.de/download/4.8.7_Centos7_libsonly_ssl.zip

I will increase the ticket priority for the PNG issue.
