Hi, recently we got a lot of *.rrdmp files as well as some *.dmp files in royal\sub\log folder.

*.dmp file name is has some sort of uuid. Most of these files have 0 size.

*.rrdmp name is machine or server name, dump, date, time, rr version and then "161116_1952_64" for client or "161116_2022_64" for server.
We got hundred thousand of them for single machine (one every 3-5s).

What is the last string?
Is it safe to remove those files *.rrdmp and *.dmp?
Are these classic memory (mini)dumps? How we can check what is inside (to debug the issue)?
Where we should look for more info (e..g in log files) to check what is the reason for these files?

Thank you, Petr

Hi

>We got hundred thousand of them for single machine (one every 3-5s).

That is not right.

They should be created really rarely.

Which RR version are you using?

>Is it safe to remove those files *.rrdmp and *.dmp?

Yes

>Are these classic memory (mini)dumps?

Yes

>How we can check what is inside (to debug the issue)?

You can not, they are intended for our dev staff.

If you are using one of the latest versions, then we can debug the issue.

That version is from 2016.

I am sorry, but we do not have any development machine for that version any more.

You have to update RR.
