If you login at the rrServer with the same user that the rrServer is running, do you see any framebar.png in the rrJobData folder?
Like

/mnt/RoyalRender/rrJobdata/Blender/C/CQU6_SC18cQ_Blender__DBlender4.2_cube_multiEx/framebar.png

 

Terminal commandline:

find /mnt/RoyalRender/rrJobData/ -type f -name "framebar.png"

As expected, the rrServer has no write access to the RR folder.

There are many “Permission denied” errors in the log file  _ERROR_SERVER____copyFromLocal.txt

and some more in the main server log.

(Note: If you want to clear the log file, you have to delete the original one in /usr/local/RR_LocalData/_rrServer/)

 

 

The rrServer is not allowed

to write or delete any file/folder in the rrJobdata folder.

and is not able to delete files left from the last update in RR/bin/… (The files to delete contain ”.upd0317_”  )

I do not know if the issue happens with other folders as well. Like sub/cfg_global, sub/stats or sub/history_db

 

 

Please use any process lister tool on your Linux machine to look for the user the rrServer runs with.

Then login with that user and verify that you can write/delete any file in the RR folder.

 

 

Have you mounted the RR network folder via SMB or NFS?

If it is SMB, then you might need to specify some mount parameter.

The RR network folder is a local partition mounted as ext4.
/dev/sdb1 /media/partition1 ext4 defaults,user_xattr,acl 0 0

Ok, so the machine is the fileserver for the RR files.
Shared via Samba to Windows (Or are you using Linux Workstations)?

 

 

I see two solutions:

 

1. The (theoretically) right way.
   Please take a look which file access rights are set when any rrClient or rrSubmitter creates a file/folder in RR.
   Perhaps it is already sufficient to add the user of the rrServer to a group.
   Or the Samba Server user.
   
   
2. The easy / compatibility way.
   Mount the RR share via SMB back to some other folder on the rrServer.
   This way all files in the RR folder are handled by Samba and you do not mix SMB with native Linux file permissions.

Setting the SMB user rights on the RR repository to 775 solved it.
