Houdy people.
Yesterday i made a successful test of the system installing the server in a windows 10 machine... now, the purchase of the license is approved but i have an issue... if i use a windows 10 machine as the server, it will only let 10 consecutive machines work at the same time, so i have to install the server in a windows server 2019 machine we have to be able to use all 30 clients.... BUT.... i havent been able to make it work there.... every time i try to run the batch file, it starts, but then in the middle of the process, it disappears.... and nothing gets installed.... Im talking about the aplication workaround , not the service workaround. The server works like a charm in the windows 10 machine , but it doesnt work in the server 2019 one.... even the C://RR_localdata folder, gets created but only the  _rrServer folder gets created (empty) and the _testWriteAccess dummy... nothing else.
and when i run win__rrConfig and look at the license tab (where i will request the license), the server tab appears with the windows 10 machine data..... and i wouldnt want the license to get bound to that machine but to the server 2019 one.
I even uninstalled everything and made a new net based file server directory where i installed everything from scratch, but i keep seeing the windows 10 machine of the server test as the server it will be licensed to.... i need help, how can i change the server to the windows server 2019 machine?

Thanks in advance.

Hi

Client Limitation:

The machine running the rrServer does NOT limit the number of rrClients.
The machine hosting your RR application files limits the number of rrClients.

They may   not   be the same machine.

There are many companies using a fileserver for project data + RR network folder

and a Windows 10/11 machine to run the rrServer.

Please see this image:

Only 1 rrServer:

every time i try to run the batch file, it starts, but then in the middle of the process, it disappears

If you run it in a cmd prompt (terminal that does not close) or if you check the app log file RR/sub/log,

then you can see that it complains that this is not the rrServer machine.

Reinstall:

>where i installed everything from scratch

The rrServer name is stored in the file RR/sub/cfg_global/globalconfig.ini.

If you install it from scratch ( into an empty folder ), it should work.
Or if you delete the globalconfig.ini file (Make sure that the other rrServer is not running any more).

In addition, there is a workaround:
Please start rrConfig on the new rrServer machine.
Ppen the license tab.

Press and hold the key „Alt“ and click on the label „Server Mac“.

It will ask you if you want to change the globalconfig.ini permanentely.

Thank you.
Then, i think is safe for us to pay for the license as everything else work like a charm.
Ill be doing that process soon.
Thanks again for your useful help.
