Beauty pass not the main output file in rrControl

Hey there,

I have been encountering a small issue when rendering with AOVs in cinema 4d and redshift. We usually use render tokens in the output path to create seperate folders for each AOV automatically, with the beauty pass going to the root folder of the specific job (attached screenshot). But it seems to confuse rrControl so the main output file is not the beauty pass (see screenshot). I marked the actual beauty pass in yellow, but you can see that for rrControl the sky mask is the main output file which creates at least one issue that I have found:

When you view the beauty pass with rrViewer and delete frames in there to rerender, it does not delete the same frames on the sky mask in this case, so when you check for missing frames after, Royal Render thinks all frames are there and does not rerender the missing ones. I hope I explained this in a clear way, let me know, if there is anything to troubleshoot this! Thanks in advance.

The issue is located within the submission plugin.

That one “decides” which output path will be send to RR as first output.
(As you can see in the rrSubmitter UI, top right)

 

Usually it is the first output it reads from the scene.

Can you remove geo from the scene and upload it via www via www.RoyalRender.de/upload_r.php?

Then I can see if it can be fixed.

I will try to take a look at this issue.
There should be a way to fix that.

just posting an update here, I found out that if you add a beauty pass in the AOV manager, the submitter actually does pick it up as the main output file. It just does not seem to be working, if you use the regular image save as your beauty render and only render out masks with multi-pass image save / AOVs

That might be the case we might have assumed the multi-pass is the more important output as you use that for compositing.
