rrDeleteOldRenderApps too frequent

Hello Knights,

I suppose the "Execute Ince a Day" -> "Clear temp directory" function runs "rrDeleteOldRenderApps".
This is annoying for us, as the clients reload 5 GB of Houdini every day for ≈ 20 minutes each in a 10 GbE network.
Is there a way to reduce the deletion frequency to 1 week or less?

It should delete apps after 3 months or if there is not enough space on the local harddrive.

Please upload an app log of such a client via www.RoyalRender.de/upload_r.php

 

 

Note: The rrDeleteOldRenderApps is a function not controlled by "Clear temp directory".

rrDeleteOldRenderApps does not report that it deleted any folder

in RR_LocalData\ renderer_exe nor RR_LocalData\renderer_plugins

 

Do you use RRs Shared Executable via a the ExeCopyFromDir setting in the render config?

Or do you use some other tool to copy Houdini?

You can see in the logs, that it had to re-download the Houdini render application again.
We are using your provided setting in the render config.

I have taken a look at the sync messages.

I can see that Houdini was copied completely once on 28. And once on the 30. .

(And in addition a few files seem to have been changed during rendering, they have been recopied from time to time as well)

 

We will add some more log messages and I will try to reproduce the issue with Houdini.

The upcoming RR version 9.1.15 has a new logfile c:\RR_localdata\renderer_exe\ copy-delete-log.txt that states all copy and delete operations.

As well as the file count each day.

I found an old companywide cron job, that purges these folders once a week.
