Can I used R/qtl2 with in-house generated mouse line with 4 parental strains?

Hi guys,

A four-way advanced intercross line was generated and
there are dozens of phenotypes are available.
I wonder if one can use R/qtl2 to do full QTL analysis....

A colleague told me that R/qtl2 can be used only with
"the mice stored in R/qtl2 associated database".
Is that true? Sorry is the question is silly.

The goal of R/qtl2 is to be able to handle any kind of multi-parent population. But it does have specific requirements for data input files, and it’s likely that some work will be done to reformat the data.

Indeed, conversion from .bed/bim/fam is likely to be a challenge for me.....
