Python Sprint - Saturday 31st May 2014

Where: Háskóli Reykjavík, M102

Itinerary:

09:00: Room opens.
09:00 - 12:00: Coding as swarms/pairs/individuals.
12:00 - 13:00: Lunch
13:00 - 14:00: Lightning talks
14:00 - 18:00: More coding
18:00 - 19:00: "What did I do today"
19:00 - ??:??: Carry on coding, or head into town for a beer, or ..

We will have a series of 5 minute talks after lunch.

If we could get a bunch of people to present that would be fantastic.

The topic of your lightning talk doesn’t have to be directly related to python. Typical talks might include a pet project you’re working on, some cool thing you’ve found out about python (or another language). They can even include calls to action for an opensource project, or be a thinly veiled recruitment drive for your company (controversial).

You can give more than one presentation - and a projector is available.

Sprinting topics

You can sprint on anything you like. It can be cPython itself, or a project like Django or twisted, or a personal pet project you’ve got going. You can also turn up and see what other people are doing and join in something there.

I'm keen, what should I do now?

1. Add your lightning talks and topic of interest for sprinting to the trello board:

Click on “join board” after logging in

(I’ve added as many of the Facebook group members as I could find to the RPUG group. If you don’t have access, please contact me with your trello userid and I’ll add you)

2. Invite other people to come down with you.

There are now 163 members of the Reykjavik Python User Group - so grab another person and come on down.
