Part picking & mounting advice

to Raspberry Pi Film Capture

Hello all

I have been looking to give this project a try, so i found a Eumig Mark S 807 super 8 projector for cheap. After tearing it down to the mechanical parts i thought it would be best to seek the advice of people on this group before continuing.

I have a attatched a few images to ilustrate my own ideas are for mounting.

As for the parts and more deatiled mounting, I could use some advice.

For the drive mechanism, cut of the excess metal from the gear to be able to mount the pulley.

The reed sensor would be mounted next to the shutter wheel and a magnet of the wheel itself. Or maybe that would prevent the camera and lens to get close enough to the gate?

Having a 3d printed sliding mecanism made for the camera and lens for easier focusing.

For the psu I think I found one that could work, 12v, 5a.

Or maybe and PC power supply?

I’m a worried about the camera I found, since the v1 is recommended and from what I can tell, not being sold at any official retailer, is it just gonna be a cheap chinese ripoff?
