Greeting,

This is a reminder that there is still time to get in on April's Blog Carnival.

http://elthosrpg.blogspot.com/2013/03/april-rpg-carnival-gming-for-ship-of.html

I think we are a bit light in the submission area so far. Remember only you make the Blog Carnival what it is!

Since we have about week and half until the end of the month, it's time for the dreaded plea for someone to host May's Blog Carnival. Remember it's fairly simple. You simply have to have a topic, post a announcement post on your blog, send a reminder to this mailing list that the topic is up, then after the month is over, and do quick round-up post if possible with all the links.

So if you would like to host May's Carnival, please let us know and send us a topic.

Yup, Jeff... we have 1 entry, but I do have to say I enjoyed it quite a bit.  As soon as I'm finished with my Game-Test Finale Story Write-up I will work on my entry for the Carnival. Actually the finale of the game test itself gave me fodder enough for my Ship Of Fools post.  I hope to have it out by wednesday or so next week.  I also look forward to other entries, of course, but I realized a bit too late that I chose a pretty challenging subject.  Next time I'll try to offer up something a little easier.

I haven't posted anything in over a year, but this topic fits my current game to a T.  I'll get something up by the end of the weekend!

I hope to be able to post something on-topic next week, but no guarantees are possible.

Has someone spoken for May's Carnival yet?

Yes- if it hasn't been done recently, I'd like to manage this topic:

"Campaigns I'd Like to Run"

Tell me if you think that's too close to something we've done in the last year.

Well, I'm not sure if it's been done in recent past. And even if it has, it's not like we can never recycle topics. That would just be plan silly. Send me your blog URL so I can put a place holder in the Archive.

While topics can be recycled, especially if they were popular and had a big response the first time around, I think edge was right to be cautious of repeating too soon - it can take time to generate new material. This is one of the mooted reasons for the lower response rate on this month's topic - too similar to a topic from a year or two earlier. In this particlar case, i don't think there's a problem, :)
