I, On the other hand, have found a couple uses. I'm in a Wave Savage Worlds game right now, which is working better than message boards tend to. And it's great for quick, low-scale collaboration (there have been a few Wave-designed D&D monsters that have gone great).

But for most things, yeah, it's kinda superfluous at the moment.
