Is there any method by which you could utilize a local copy of the google drive?

I ran into an issue recently when I attempted to load my project at a friends house who has poor internet connectivity.
The thing is, that laptop has a local copy of my google drive, and every piece of media was sitting there on the computer as it struggled to re-download them all from Google's servers.

I am not sure how one could access these files via the addressing you are currently using (unique IDs provided by google, yeah?).
But perhaps you could use the desktop client in some manner?

Regardless, thanks for the awesome tool! I am looking forward to the next version.

Unfortunately, there is no way of using the local Google Drive client for RPG Ambience, and this is not something I will add to the current version. I'm changing the entire sync process for the next version, though, which includes better support for offline use.

At this point, the best thing to do is to load the adventure before the session, when you are connected to the internet, and then keep the browser tab open until the session starts. If you want to avoid accidentally closing the tab, start a scene and RPG Ambience will warn you if you try to close the tab. If you want even less risk, open the same adventure in two separate tabs; both will load all of the media independently.

I am curious what the options for offline use will be. Can you talk about that, or is that functionality not yet well defined?

I actually attempted to do that, but after a brief period of use the tiles all changed from thumbnails to black, and I could not get them to return without refreshing the page. I probably could have made it work if I were careful.

The principle is quite simple: RPG Ambience will save adventures locally by default and only download media if there is internet connectivity and the adventures have changed. The tricky part is making sure that it's not storing too much data so that some browser or performance limit is reached; I haven't looked into the details of that yet.
