No increase in the nominal NREGA budget
The NREGA budget for 2018-19 is Rs 55,000 crores – the same as the budget for the ongoing year (the initial budget of Rs 48,000 crores for 2017-18 was supplemented with Rs 7,000 in January 2018). Payment of unemployment allowance in West Singhbhum, Jharkhand
Chakradharpur: On 17 January, six workers of Chakradharpur received unemployment allowance of Rs 3008. These workers submitted their work demand applications on 6 July 2017. With the help of the local Cluster Facilitation Team (CFT) and Sahayata Kendra, these workers submitted an application for unemployment allowance in the block office on 24 August 2017. When the local administration took no action on the demand for unemployment allowance, the CFT raised the matter to the state’s MGNREGA Commissioner. Two months after the Commissioner’s instruction of payment of unemployment allowance, the Block Development Officer ordered recovery of the amount from the Rozgar Sevak and Panchayat Sachiv. This is third time that workers of the block have received unemployment allowance in the past one year.
Khuntpani: Some workers of Khuntpani block who demanded work in September-October 2016, did not receive employment within 15 days. 173 of these workers demanded unemployment allowance. When no action took place on their demand, they lodged their complaint in Jan Samvad. After 11 months, 20 workers received unemployment allowance for 16 days. The rest of the workers are yet to receive the unemployment allowance. The local CFT helped the workers demand this entitlement.

नरेगा बजट में कोई बढ़ोतरी नहीं

चक्रधरपुर: 17 जनवरी को चक्रधरपुर में 6 मजदूरों को 3,008 रुपये का बेरोज़गारी भत्ता मिलाI मजदूरों ने 6 जुलाई 2017 को अपना काम के मांग का आवेदन जमा किया थाI क्लस्टर फैसिलिटेशन टीम (CFT) एवं सहायता केंद्र की मदद से इन मजदूरों ने ब्लाक कार्यालय में 24 अगस्त 2017 को बेरोज़गारी भत्ते के लिए आवेदन किया थाI जब स्थानीय प्रशासन ने बेरोज़गारी भत्ते के आवेदन पर कोई कार्यवाही नहीं की तो CFT ने मामले को राज्य के नरेगा आयुक्त के सामने रखाI नरेगा आयुक्त के बेरोज़गारी भुगतान के निर्देश के दो महीने बाद प्रखंड विकास अधिकारी ने रोज़गार सहायक एवं पंचायत सचिव से वसूली का आदेश दियाI 2017 में यह तीसरी बार है जब इस ब्लाक के मजदूरों को बेरोज़गारी भत्ते का भुगतान हुआ हैI
खुंटपानी: खुंटपानी ब्लाक के कुछ मजदूरों ने सितम्बर-अक्टूबर 2016 में काम माँगा था, पर उन्हें 15 दिन के भीतर काम नही मिलाI इनमे से 173 मजदूरों ने बेरोज़गारी भत्ते की मांग कीI जब उनकी मांग पर कोई कार्यवाही नहीं हुई तो उन्होंने जन संवाद में शिकायत दर्ज कराईI 11 महीने बाद 20 मजदूरों को 16 दिन का बेरोज़गारी भत्ते का भुगतान हुआI बाकी मजदूरों को अभी तक भत्ते का भुगतान मिलना बाकी हैI स्थानीय CFT ने मजदूरों को उनके हक दिलाने में मदद कीI
