This is for the first time that the complete SurSagar has been published with a Hindi translation and scholarly commentary. It has the most authentic mula patha (original text) and an impeccably researched and an exhaustive critical commentary.

Each Volume has 1100 padas (verses).

Ashtachapi Surdas

The first two Volumes contain the works of the Ashtachhapi Surdas, Surdas Sarasvat, disciple of Mahaprabhu Vallabhacharya. He was said to be blind by birth, born at Sihi in 1478 CE. He lived at Parasauli and performed bhajans & kirtans at the Shrinath temple at Govardhan Giri. His devotional poetry was known as SurSagar. His padas centre around Lord Krishna's life. This is why his SurSagar is known as the Krishna Lilatmak SurSagar.

Volume One has 'Vinaya Padavali', 'Gokul Lila' & 'Vrindavan Lila'

Volume Two has 'Vrindavan Lila' continued, 'Mathura Lila', 'Gopi Virah', 'Bhramar Git' & 'Hari ke Dvarikagaman ke Pashcat Gopi Virah'.

Candabardai Surdas

The next three Volumes contain the 12 part SurSagar, aka the Dvadasha Skandha SurSagar. This was composed by the Surdas who was from the family of Candabardai. He was a singer in Emperor Akbar's court. He was also said to be blind. He was born in 1533 CE. Like his earlier namesake, he too was initiated into the Vallabhacarya sect by none other than the grandson of Vallabhacarya himself.

Volume Three has Skandhas 1 - 9, and part of Skandha 10

(Gokul Lila, Vrindavan Lila & Ras Lila).

Volume Four has part of Skandha 10 (Vrindavan Lila continued).

Volume Five has part of Skandha 10, (Mathura Lila, Gopi Virah, Bhramar Git), Skandhas 11 & 12.
