Subject: Day 5 Twilight Camp
Volunteers,
Mother nature is throwing us a curve ball today as well as it did yesterday. Monitoring the forecast, we are showing at least 70% chance of rain and storms around 7pm. For this reason, we will be moving Twilight Camp indoors to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints at 6819 S FM 549 Heath, TX. For your convenience, the Google map link HERE shows directions from Harry Myers Park for reference. There will also be a volunteer at Harry Myers to redirect traffic should someone get missed and not receive the information that camp is relocating tonight. Camp is still scheduled for 5pm - 9pm. Staff will do it's best to check everyone in and stay on schedule for all the rotations. Please keep in mind that the rotation lengths may be adjusted to accommodate the check in process.
The programs will have to be modified since we are moving indoors. The program area's effected are as followed:
Aquanaut
Fishing
Football
Frisbee
Push Carts
Rat Tails
Archery
Your program directors are currently working on the schedules to reflect these changes for tonight. The gymnasium is where opening and closing ceremonies will be held. As you walk into the church, registration will be in the foyer area. We will have class rooms assigned for each of the program areas and signs/staff helping to guide you to the next rotation area.
All walking den leaders, please forward this email to any and all units you have contact information for to help make sure everyone is aware of change of venue for tonight. I will also be posting this on the District Website and District
Facebook page.
This is not always an easy transition but, this can be a good learning tool for the scouts to let them know to always have a Plan B and to learn to adapt and overcome.
Thanks for doing what you do for the youth!
Corey Brown
