The VTO comes equipped with a truly innovative motion system that provides cues so small, precise, and quick that the pilot feels even the slightest deviations before seeing it in the visual system, just as she would in the real world. Unlike the motion system found on the FMX, the VTO moves along arc-shaped tracks to provide the feeling of being suspended from the rotor head. The system is clean and quiet enough to operate in a small classroom, but robust enough to stand-up to years of hard use in a large professional pilot academy.
This simulator includes a warranty against defects in material and workmanship that starts on the day you take delivery of your new simulator and ends one year later. Basically, if something broke because we didn't built it correctly, we'll fix it or send you a replacement. This doesn't cover normal wear and tear, modification, acts of nature, or other stuff that's out of our control.
After your one year warranty expires you have the option to choose one of two Service Agreement levels for the next 12 months. All Service Agreements are billed quarterly based on your actual usage with a maximum of 1,400 hours a year.
Customers may enter into a Redbird Service Agreement up to 90 days after expiration of the Warranty or an existing Service Agreement. After that time, customers wishing to purchase a Service Agreement will be required to undergo a recertification process and pay for an on-site inspection, replacement parts and travel expenses to bring the product configuration up to current standards. The minimum charge for a recertification will be $1,000 per system plus the actual cost of repairs, travel/lodging, etc.
Insight integrates with the Redbird line of flight simulators to render the outside view of the aircraft, a live video feed from the inside view of the cockpit and cockpit instrumentation onto an external display. Key aspects of the flight can be immediately reviewed on the Insight screen after a flight is completed by using DVR-like controls on the Insight viewing station.
Cygnus allows you to use any aviation or navigation apps running on your Apple iOS device while connected to any one of a wide range of flight simulation software products. When using Cygnus during a simulation session your iOS device and the aviation app it is running will believe that it is located wherever the aircraft in the active simulation is located. Cygnus is the perfect tool for training pilots in the use of iPad aviation apps in a safe and controlled environment.
Corvus connects your Redbird simulator to ForeFlight (more EFB connections are in the works) by providing data akin to an ADS-B receiver. In addition to representing own-ship position of simulated aircraft, Corvus also broadcasts attitude and heading reference systems (AHRS) information as well as Traffic Information Services-Broadcast (TIS-B) data. Select Flight Information Services-Broadcast (FIS-B) functionality, such as weather and airspace information, are currently in development and will be available in future updates.
Can ANYBODY tell me, how to play in helicopter simulator battles againts AA? I alredy died 20 times in one battle, 10 of that was with out any kill, because AA shot me down 5km away, so my tzefa A (AH-1G) is unplyeble, because this mode is broken, I lost 200k sl, it is much for me, when I have only 600k sl
The gepards in the battlefields and convoys have a mqx range of about 3km. The rolands on bases have a max range of about 6.5km but call it 7km to be safe. Most helis should be able to outrange them i think.
Today I played multiple Heli sim battles. The battles have a lot of bugs, like: disappearing vehicles, underground convoys, sometimes no enemies but the time goes, and of course we are too many as players against just few targets. Anyone is mad about it? Because I am!
Yeah, that detent is annoying, but it will do the job. I often fly without the pedals, so I can camp on the floor. More comfortable. I would NOT say it is an optimal helicopter setup, but close enough that you will really get to experience flying one.
A flight stick is also annoying with helicopters because it re-centers which can be tiring with a helicopter because you typically want to hold it steady in place, and small movements are best. So let go and it re-centers? Hold on for dear life!
The HOTAS One is NOT perfect, but my goodness, for basically an entry level HOTAS is is far better than I imagined it would be. Like, it has so far been good enough to keep me from buying an upgraded setup.
The main panels are hanging on standard slim lift-off wall mounts the touch-panels are held in some little clips i 3d-printed - they slot into the alu-channel and just have a small U-section that holds the panels, the top edges are secured with a small blob of blu-tac

You will notice FSX was removed since it was replaced by MSFS (2020). Even if folks are using it (and being sold on Steam), I decided to go with the latest versions of each sim, and MSFS is the last one.
I have also decided to remove sims that are a bit older and/or are less active, meaning they have not had updates for a long time or are not that relevant. This is a bit tricky for me but, seriously, I am trying to focus on the best options out there and I have to be realistic with what goes on this list.
Helicopters were not present from the beginning, and that was a deliberate choice by the team that wanted to add them later as they needed to get the foundation as solid as possible before adding the complex, crazy flying machines into the sim.
Photometric Lighting Engine, 3D Water, Seasonal Effects, Tropical Water Colors,3D Forests and Vegetation, Ambient Sounds, Volumetric 3D Clouds, Real Weather, Wake Turbulence, Microbursts, Thermals and Snow, Rain, and Ice Accumulation are a few of the things that were added or improved to the sim.
Since 2019 we got 2 new helicopters, the AH-64D Apache and the Mil Mi-24P, raising the number of helicopters available in the sim to 6. Polychop Simulations also updated their SA342 Gazelle and they have been working on the OH-58 Kiowa Warrior which, we hope, shall be released later this year, but no promises can be made at this time.
Oh, and you can share some of the helicopters with other users. You can fly with 3 other simmers in the Huey or partner up with another person in the Apache. Of course, everyone will have to have the helicopter installed as well.
Aerofly FS4 comes with 3 helicopters, the R22, H135, and UH-60 Black Hawk. The flight dynamics on the sim have always been absolutely fantastic. For some time the R22 was the best helicopter in any sim out there (yes, really) but I have to say the X-Plane 12 one is pretty close to it.
And it all comes down to a balance. No sim is perfect. They are all flawed somehow. The trick, for me, is to find a balance between the several things I value and go with the one that offers me the most.
As I said, I have all these sims installed on my computer and I use more than one. But MSFS is the one that I have been using more and more because it offers me the best compromise and quality on the things that I value.
You may value different things and have different opinions. If you do, I would actually love to hear from you and know what is it that you value and how you made your choice. Please let me know in the comments below.
So, you're looking for a free RC helicopter simulator. However, are there any good ones that will truly help you learn to fly? Yes & no depending on what simulator features are important to you.
You must use the same method of controlling a real RC model via the sticks on an RC radio to build the required mussel memory / pathways from the good old processor up in the skull, down to your thumbs/fingers. Building that all up on a game pad or joystick won't do much when you head outside with your bird and RC radio in hand.
Yes there are a number of free RC helicopter simulator programs that you candown-load. There are also several free simulator APPs available at iTunes and Google Play. Most are actually entertaining and if just want to try one out, why not. Just don't think you will learn to fly a real RC helicopter with them.
The planes are easier to fly than real RC airplanes and thehelicopters are ridiculously easy to fly. How easy? Well let's just sayit is harder flying amicro coaxialRC helicopter than the helis in most of these free simulators... they are thatbad. Specifically the flight feels "locked in" no variation, no changingdynamics, and no true feel...
Don't expect Phoenix, RealFlight, Heli-X, or AccuRC's top end flight simulation physics quality and immersive virtual environments as you really do get what you pay for in the world of RC helicopter flight simulators; but ClearView's demo version is pretty good for the zero $ price tag.
As I just mentioned, the Free ClearView download is their demo version and has a few different aircraft you can try out. However, the simulation is not as good as the higher end RC helicopter simulators previously mentioned.
Just remember however, you still get no RC controller interface/USB Radio adapter with any free download sim; so unless you already have something like that, you'll have to purchase it. This is were getting a higher end simulator out of the gate that comes with a controller or USB adapter offers value to offset the cost associated with purchasing it separately.
My RC Helicopter Flight Simulator Page goes over this in greater detail and has links to all the better heli sims so you can read up on them and see what they have in the way of free download versions. I also have simulator tips on that page to help you get the most out of your simulator time, many of which will apply to free demo versions as well.
