What Are You Doing for National Allotments Week?

National Allotments Week runs from 11–17 August 2025, with this year’s theme, “Allotments and Wellbeing,” celebrating how these green spaces support healthier lives, stronger communities, and our connection to nature.

📣 We’d love to hear from you!
If you’re organising an open day, community BBQ, fundraiser, or any other event to celebrate, please let us know. Sharing your plans allows us to promote your activities, offer support, and boost engagement nationwide.

To make it easier, we’ve put together a free NAW Promotional Tool Kit filled with resources like poster templates, social media graphics, a press release, and even a quiz for your open day!

Together, we can highlight these precious spaces and the people who make them flourish. Please get in touch and help us spread the word!

My Happy Place Photo Competition – Now Open!

To celebrate National Allotments Week (11–17 August 2025), we’re excited to launch a special photo competition just for allotment holders — and it couldn’t be simpler to enter!

What to do:
Send us a photo of your personal “happy place” on your allotment — that special spot that brings you peace, pride, or pure joy. Whether it’s a colourful flower patch, your favourite bench, or a view that lifts your spirits, we want to see what makes your plot special.

How to enter:

  • Submit one photo with a short caption (1–2 sentences) telling us why that spot means so much to you.

  • Post your photo on social media with the hashtags #NationalAllotmentsWeek25 and #NAW25
    OR

  • Email your image and caption to mark...@thenas.org.uk

Prizes:
We’ll be awarding three gift vouchers worth £500 in total — one £200 prize and two £150 prizes. Winners will be chosen based on heart, creativity, and how well their photo captures this year’s theme: Allotments and Wellbeing.

Deadline: Monday 11 August 2025

Please note: By entering, you agree that your photo may be used by us for promotional purposes in connection with National Allotments Week and related activities.

Let’s celebrate the calm, connection, and community allotments bring, and share the hidden corners that make us happiest.

Get snapping and show us your happy place!

Last Chance to Register for the AGM

The AGM is almost here, but there’s still time to register!

Our strength comes from you — this is a member-led organisation, and we rely on your involvement to keep moving forward.

Will you be voting at the AGM? If you're the main contact for an association or an individual member, please come along and cast your votes. Your voice helps shape the future and keeps us going strong.

It’s also a fantastic opportunity to connect, socialise, and discover something new. Fill in the delegate form from the last magazine or go online to vote on the proposed motions — and make your voice count.

Dead Wildlife on Your Plot?

Plant Supports for Your Plot

Dear Member,

Hello! I’m Susan – the New Finance Officer at NAS

I recently joined the team and, while I’m new to the world of allotments, I bring years of finance know-how with me. From managing budgets to keeping the books in order, my role is all about making sure everything behind the scenes runs smoothly and sustainably.

It’s been great learning more about the amazing work you all do and seeing how much energy and care goes into every plot. I might not be wielding a spade, but I’m here to help dig into the numbers and support the work that keeps NAS thriving.

I’m excited to be part of this growing community – and I look forward to supporting you all (quietly and efficiently!) from the background.

Best wishes,

Susan - Finance
