Howdy Aggie Family,
The recent weeks and months have been some of the greatest experiences and memories of my time at A&M. I have met so many Aggies and organizations, and I am tremendously honored and humbled by the incredible support that my team and I have received. Today, February 22, 2013, is student body election day in Aggieland. Our team could not be more excited for the results at Sully this evening. We have been working hard since early December towards this day; however we still hold the same belief as we did when we started —we were going to enjoy this process and trust the Lord with the results.
Tonight, a win or loss is not the most important determining factor for the success of our campaign. No doubt we are in this to win and confident we will do so, however we consider it more important for our campaign to have glorified God and enriched the Aggie spirit through being the hardest working and most personal SBP campaign. Our team has made it a top priority to represent me in this way because I strive to live for the glory of God and for the benefit and esteem of others. That is why I am running for Student Body President, to be a humble servant leader to this Aggie Family. To fulfill the mission of SGA I will represent students, address campus needs, maintain and enhance tradition, and help develop leaders, all to improve the quality of student life at A&M.
Our platform and policy are founded in the core values of A&M. The three pillars of our campaign are Service, Unity, and Tradition. Service is embodied by my plan to continue to serve this university in various unique and attainable capacities. In unity, I desire to bring together the Aggie family in the same spirit of the great traditions of Muster and Bonfire. This is one of the reasons we are so excited about Build 2013 (policy on website). Finally, as a member of the Corps, I take personal responsibility to be a “keeper of the spirit and guardian of Tradition.” The greatest tradition, in my opinion, is the Aggie family because there is no other community and network like it. This pillar can be tangibly upheld by living according to the A&M core values.
Throughout this process, because of these platforms and policy, I am so grateful to have received the endorsements of individuals and entities like current Student Body President John Claybrook, The Battalion, the Texas A&M Foundation Maroon Coats, current Head Yell Leader Nelson Ingram, the Fightin’ Texas Aggie Corps of Cadets, and the Texas A&M Veteran’s Association, among many others. These supporters have set a precedent of excellence through selfless service and I want to emulate their passion and drive by serving at the highest capacity that I can in my time here at Texas A&M.
I would like to humbly ask not only for your vote but also support to make these initiatives possible. Our campaign has not been run on empty promises; we have great aspirations and goals for A&M that will be achieved only with your help. We ask that you please exercise your right and privilege to vote in order to invest in the future of this great University that we all hold so dear. We would love to see you tonight 8:30 at Sully for election results. Have a great weekend.
