Hi Tom,

I saw that you sent something that applies to the GPS issue but did not know how to apply it and left it alone.  Looks like a new fragment of the GPS module.  I'll give it a try if you can tell me what to do with it. Appreciate your support.

    Hi Tom,

GPD data blinks on/off about every 2 seconds. Other than not staying on,
thje data updates with movement and speed changes as one would expect.

Guessing that the logging module looks for a GPS update at some regular
interval. If GPS data is available the logging module updateds the "Grid"
field as one would expect. If the GPS module has "blinked off" then the
logging module, seeing nothing, will switch to manual and not look again
for an update until the "from GPS" button is selected.

So getting the GPS module to stay on would be the challenge.

Attached is a Word file of a segement of the dubug log as you requested.
The pattern repeats continuously every 2 seconds or so.
    Thanks for your help Tom.

    Bill (W7QQ),

Did you use the new gps.tcl I provided via e-mail to the list?

Here's a link to the file if you didn't see it. The new version might fix
the problem entirely, but if not, will give more debug information.

Bill,

The file I sent is gps.tcl.  Here's what to do:

In file manager, navigate to the RoverLog folder.

Rename the gps.tcl that already lives there to gps-orig.tcl.

Copy the gps.tcl file I sent into the RoverLog folder.

Run RoverLog and check to see if things are better.  Obtain debug output as before with Alt-U.

Thanks,
Tom - N1MU.

Hi Tom,

Got your new GPS file placed in the RoverLog folder and the change appears to have worked.  In the GPS module the display still blinks but the log module doesn't appear to lose the gps info and switch to manual as it did before.  Enclosed is a Word version of the debug file.  WooHooo!

Thanks Tom
