Operais not one of our fully supported browsers so although you can install 1Password from the Chrome Webstore you won't be able to use the integration features such as Touch ID. That being said, points 2 and 3 should work. Can you try the steps below and let me know if it improves things:
Can you confirm if your browser and the 1Password extension are fully up to date? Are you experiencing trouble filling on all websites, or a specific one? If there's a specific site, can you provide us with website's URL?
Those are the versions. I believe I installed opera and 1password a few days ago. New to Opera, and mostly loving it other than 1password issue, and I posted a couple feature requests like being able to split tabs like you would split windows on a monitor, and the ability to set On Startup pages by workspace instead of only on the main workspace.
I have just taken a look over the discussion so far and I notice a few issues have been discussed. Can you specify the exact issue you are having with 1Password and Opera One so I can make sure I provide accurate guidance?
Same 3 items from description of this ticket. 1Password installs and then I have to enter password every time i open opera even if the 1Password app is already unlocked on my mac. Once unlocked it will try to suggest but clicking does nothing. And if i click the extension button i get a generic list of passwords not suggestions for the site i am on. I have had to use the 1 password app to copy paste into opera which is enough to push me back to safari. I have to use 1 password for work and have no option to use a different password manager. Otherwise i love opera!
The 1 password app is working better with your suggestions. It works perfectly in most browsers edge, chrome, safari, firefox it is kind of disappointing that Opera which has such great features blocks the connection to the 1 password app that allows it to integrate with the unlock features on the mac such as unlock with fingerprint and watch. Unfortunately entering passwords is a huge part of using the internet these days and 1password has become a popular solution for business where the users have no choice to change. Thank you all for your quick response, I hope a feature request for proper 1 password integration can make it into the queue to provide a better user experience for an app that is used by over 100k corp clients .
Q4 - What is your proposed solution?
I used the extension in Opera GX for a while before the browser lock was added. The installation of Chrome extensions supports Opera / Opera GX and I had no problems. So Opera / Opera GX would only need to be added to the list of supported browsers, no other changes would be necessary.
Opera has been the most go to browsers for people like us who likes the features this browser offers. If you can add this to opera, then can have users from those 300 million monthly active users of opera browsers.
There are no straight directions for this except trial and error.
I found NO help online for this.
Tutorial courtesy of my lagered brain.
Launch KeepPassXC app, login, go to settings, go to browser integration button, select Chrome and Chromium.
Minimize Keepass app. Walk away. Back to browser.
KeePassXc browser plugin fixes everything in most browsers.
Of course it is not available in Opera. Opera itself not supported in Keepass.
Install this extension from Opera Store:
The Keepass "lock" extension icon will be in your upper right, as usual.
Right click icon OPTIONS.
Scroll to bottom of page. Observe:
See the fine print?
Find your chrome/chromium NativeMessaging json files. Opera is allegedly built on Chrome and Chromium. I found both. Did not want to hedge my bets.
Remember that fine print gobbletygook that OPTIONS wanted you to cut and paste in jason? Do it to both files.
See this pic?
Erase all entries, cut and paste the gobbley-gook. In my case CALA-BLAHBLAH---
SAVE both files.
Go back to OPTIONS PAGE. Change some defaults.
Click these things, from top to bottom:
You need the native button. This helps the plugin access the keepass database. "helps."
Next. Enable both autofill buttons.
This is necessary.
Now:
Click all three misc boxes.
Click auto permissions box.
Click save.
Open terminal (the way I do it).
REBOOT.
since this extension is a bandaid, when you get to your desired login page, right-click 'lock icon', ask for auto-fill.
possibly two irrelevant pop up dialogues may occur.
cancel out of them.
the only dialogue box you want is the ALLOW/DENY fill in of your credentials. you did all this work you may as well allow?
It will then access your existing keepassXC database.
An Opera extension contains a manifest file which defines metadata like the name of the extension, its author, etc. It also lists the various API permissions we want the extension to have. It will also typically have a background page or background script, which is responsible for communicating with the browser UI. Apart from that, it could have a content script which deals with changes to web pages. You could also need some other HTML (and related CSS and JavaScript) files for button popups or an options page.
You may also need other files such as images, fonts, videos etc. You can include them in the parent directory, or create a separate folder (for example, a folder named media) or two, and place them there.
How hard would it be to get a Opera Browser extension for Studio/StudioX. I tried using the Chrome extension as you are able to install them and they are supposed to work. However, this is the first Chrome extension that has not worked. It installs just fine but when you try to use Opera it says that it cannot read from this browser.
I would like to use the Opera browser instead of Chrome. The Chrome extension is successfully installed but when I try to use the browser it gives me an error saying that it cannot read from this browser.
Each widget has an entry there. I think you'll understand the syntax yourself, it is quite self-explaining if you have some widgets installed.EDIT: I just found out that adding a new entry to widget.dat will install the extension to Opera, but it will be deactivated as it hasn't been initialised. This usually happens through the javascript/extension engine during runtime.
Additionally to that, you may have to manually initialise the widget settings within the pstorage folder. The settings are stored as base64-encoded utf-16 key-value pair strings. So, this encoded structure:
(Tag names are freely interpreted ;) I found a base64 en/decoder capable of processing utf-16 herePS: Opera will install widgets by double-clicking them. So you could also execute Opera with the extensions path on the commandline. Opera will do everything for you then.
I am trying to find where an Opera web browser extension stores its data and settings so I can make a backup. In my case, I am trying to find the Reddit Enhancement Suite extension's cache and settings location.
In Windows 7, Opera extension files (.OEX) and their data and configuration is stored in this folder C:\Users\\AppData\Local\Opera\Opera\widgets\. (This directory name may vary depending on the Opera 'Program Files' folder name. This could be C:\Users\\AppData\Local\Opera\Opera x64\widgets, with the 64-bit version of Opera.)
In Opera 12, you can find the wuid... folder name of installed Opera extensions by opening widgets.dat in the %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Opera\Opera\widgets folder using a text editor. Use the search function of your text editor to find the extension name, and then see the value of the tag above it, which should contain the wuid... folder name.

By using an open-source native client, this extension transfers links between your browse and Opera browser. The extension can configure to capture left-click over links and send configured hostnames to the Opera browser. This extension also provides a right-click context menu item to send links to the Opera browser without the need to copy the link to the system's clipboard first. Note that for this extension to send links, you need to install a small NodeJS-based native client. Without this native integration, the extension is not working. At this moment, the native-client only supports Windows, Linux, and Mac operating systems.Features:Send the current page to the Opera browser.Send all tabs to the Opera browser.Close a tab when the link is sent to the Opera browser.Send tabs in the current window to the Opera browser.Open Opera browser if no instance is present.Add a new tab to the Opera browser if an instance is detected.Support managed storage to configure the extension by a domain administrator instead of directly configuring each extension on a network.--- LegalOpera is a trademark of Opera Inc., registered in the U.S. and other countries.
