Hi,

I've been trying to compile one of the samples in the Route-me project, but so far I have failed (any sample that is, I have tried several). I'm new to Xcode so I've been hoping to be able to just compile an unadulterated sample so I can dip my toe in without facing too steep a learning curve. I've tried several versions of Xcode (I'm on a borrowed mac and stuck with OSX 10.6.8, but I can put whatever version of Xcode on it I like). So far I've tried Xcode versions 4.2, 3.2.3 and 3.1.4 with no success (none of them compile route-me samples 'out of the box'). I also tried the Alpstein fork with no success either (although I just saw a few minutes ago that Alpstein requires Xcode >= 4.3 so that explains Alpstein failing).

The reason I have been trying older Xcode versions is that from what I can see in the route-me source files they were used with Xcode 3.1. I found a reference on the web from another person having problems compiling the samples who said they 'reverted to 3.2' because changing the project to work with Xcode 4 was too much hard work, hence trying 3.2 myself.

So essentially I am just wondering if anyone can tell me what version of Xcode will Route-me samples compile with directly without me having to fix anything? I just don't have the knowledge yet to fix the problems (I'm fairly seasoned in C, fair in C++ but new to objective C and the xcode environment). Is there any version / setup I can install which the published route-me samples will 'just work' with straight off?

TIA, Pete
