So, initially, I made this mod for people like me, who are tired of listening to the same looped stuff in the main menu over and over, but at the same time they still want to listen to music in other places (such as heists, planning screen, card drop screen etc.) without having to go to the sound settings every time.

What I did at first was to replace the track "Mayhem Dressed in a Suit" with an empty stream file. Little did I knew, this track consists of more than just one file, so people complained that they still do hear the music after a little while. I was thoroughly confused, because there was nothing wrong on my end. I was too lazy to figure out the problem, and eventually, I abandoned this game altogether.

But now I'm back, and when I remembered about this mod, I decided to finally solve this issue. So, the reason there was nothing on my end is because I replaced a different track for myself, "Criminal Intent" (I don't even remember why I decided to do it this way). The entire track is just one file, so, of course, there was nothing wrong with my personal version of this mod. At first, I decided to just upload this version of the mod, but realized that not everyone might have PD: TH soundtrack bought on Steam, so I decided to replace a track that everyone has.

With a bit of searching, I found out that most of the menu tracks (mainly older ones), including "Mayhem..." consist of two stream files, so I tried "silencing" them both, but there was still a little bit of sound (about 0.5 second long) that I couldn't get rid of. Same thing happened with "Blueprints" and "Let's Go Shopping". Thankfully, I eventually found a track that works nicely with being silenced - "Freeze".

So now you can make builds and wait for people in your lobby in silence, while retaining music anywhere else (unless, maybe, you want to use this track to mute music in other parts of the game, except for heists, of course).

In-game menus can have their layout created in a json-formatted text file, instead of defining each individual element in a Lua script.
Json Menus allows you to load a json file which will automatically create, layout, and setup all elements of your in-game menu for you. All you have to do then is implement the callback handlers for your menu, so that you can process any user input.

This is ID of the parent menu for all Lua mods. If you are adding an options menu for your mod, use this ID, as it will automatically added to your Options/Mod Options menu.
If you want to have your menu appear in a different location, you will have to find the ID of the menu you wish to add it to.

menu_id A unique identifier for your menu, so that the game can find and display your menu when it is clicked.
parent_menu_id The menu ID of the parent menu, this is the menu under which your menu will appear. Under most circumstances should be lua_mod_options_menu.
title The key of the name of your menu. This is localized.
description A key for the description of your menu. This is localized.
items An array of Json Objects which will be the menu items which appear in your menu. They will appear in-game in the same order which they are defined.

These keys are used in all items in the items array.
type The type of item to place at this position. The available types are button, divider, toggle, slider, multiple_choice, and keybind.
id A unique ID for this menu item.
title The key for the name of this menu item. This is a localized value.
description The key for the description of this menu item. This is a localized value.
callback The callback function to call on the MenuCallbackHandler when this item is modified.
[localized] Should the title and description be used as localization keys. Optional, defaults to true.

These keys are only of use on items with the type of toggle.
value The key of the value to load from the data table. See the example mod for more information on this.
default_value The default value of the toggle if no data could be loaded from the data table.

These keys are only of use on items with the type of slider.
value The key of the value to load from the data table.
default_value The default value of the slider to use if not data could be loaded from the data table.
max The maximum value this slider can go to, as a number.
min The minimum value this slider can go to, as a number.
step How much this slider will increment when a controller is being used to adjust it.

These keys are only of use on items with the type of multiple_choice.
items An array of localized names to use as items for the multiple choice. The value of the multiple choice is saved and loaded as the index of the selected item.
value The key of the value to load from the data table.
default_value The index of the default value to use if no data could be loaded from the data table.

These keybinds are only of use on items with the type of keybind.
keybind_id A unique ID for this keybind, it will be used to automatically save and load your customized keybinds.
func The function which should be called when the keybind is pressed.

Spencer noted that this bill comes as the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) announces a new federal rule regarding lending. In introducing these rules, CFPB Director Richard Cordray acknowledged the limits of federal regulation aimed at encouraging states and local governments to partner with the CFPB to rein in this predatory industry.

Calhoun noted that payday lenders collect 75 percent of their loan fees from borrowers with more than 10 loans per year. These high-cost, unaffordable loans lead to a cascade of financial consequences, such as overdraft fees, bankruptcy and loss of bank accounts.

He said the rule also permits exceptions for certain long-term loans that could ultimately overburden borrowers with unaffordable debt. Further, the protections against flipping borrowers from one short-term loan into another have been cut in half since the preliminary proposal last year.

Calhoun said the final rule should apply ability-to-repay requirements to every loan; increase protections against loan flipping; and be broadened to cover any loan that enables lenders to coerce repayment from borrowers.

A payday loan (also called a cash-advance loan, a check-advance loan, a post-dated check loan, or a deferred deposit loan) is a short-term, high-interest loan from a check cashing business or a finance company. These loans are often cash advances secured by personal checks or electronic transfers, and often have a very high annual percentage rate (APR).

Below you will find references to the Texas laws that govern payday loans. If you find these statutes difficult to understand, you may want to look at the "Understanding the Law" resources on this page or speak to an attorney.

Every contract in PayDay 2 follows the same general flow of events, so knowing how the missions are laid out and how the game works can help you plan your heists accordingly. More detailed information can be found in other parts of the wiki, but this will give you a quick overview.

When starting up the game the first time, a pop-up box will invite you to the Safe House. You can skip it if you wish, but it serves as a basic tutorial, and will introduce you to a couple new concepts. If you do skip it, you can go there from the main menu.

The safe house will allow you to practice with skills and new weapons. There are rooms to practice opening doors, opening safes and shooting enemies. You can also slowly see your pile(s) of cash grow as you complete more and more contracts.

When you open Crime.Net, you will see an overhead view of Washington DC. On this screen contracts will pop up in various locations. You can mouse over the icons to hear Bain describe what the contract is about.

In PayDay 2 there are the so called 'professional' jobs or pro jobs that heisters can take on to gain more experience. Pro jobs cannot be restarted like normal jobs if a day of a contract is failed which makes it more challenging to heisters. Some heists have a normal and pro version, but some only have a pro version like Big Oil and Ukrainian Job.

After selecting a contract from Crime.net, you will have a chance to check your current setup, including whether you want to play with the AI backup or play solo. It is possible to complete a contract by yourself, but it can be incredibly difficult!

After pressing 'Start Heist', you will see the intel screen. You can view any pictures, blueprints, or other information that your contacts have managed to acquire. For a fee, you can also purchase additional bits of intel, which can make your mission that much easier. Still, the best intel will fail if your Skills aren't up to par, so don't rely too heavily on it. Besides, many missions are heavily randomized, so you can't expect every mission to go down the exact same way.

After viewing the intel screen, it'll be time to perform the heist itself. The general layout of a given heist will always be the same no matter how many instances of it that you do. (For example, the Four Stores heist always involves the same map, the same layout, and the same traps.) The difficulty and your skill set can determine how exactly the heist goes down, so coordinate with your team to get through it cleanly and efficiently. Remember: the longer you're in the heist, the greater the chance you're going to fail, especially for the more difficult ones.

When you're ready to start the heist, hold the G key to put on your mask. (Alternatively, if the heist is forced to start due to an alarm being tripped, you'll don the mask automatically.) Once the mask is on, it can't come off; you'll be committed. Act quickly, and try not to push your luck.

After completing the last day of the heist, or if you were completely defeated, you'll be taken to the summary screens of your loot and experience points. After that, every player will be presented with a series of three cards, and you'll each get to select one. The cards contain either a cash bonus, a mask template, a weapon, or a weapon accessory. Other than the cash bonus, you'll still need to buy your new item in order to actually use it. This card game only unlocks the right to purchase it; it doesn't unlock the item for actual use.
