That's the problem of all Apple devices. I also have the same problem with Netflix on the iPhone. The volume is always too low, especially when you use apps. It's really so boring and I really can't understand why we users and owners of these devices cannot set the volume limit as we want.
I will add, however, I watch Netflix with just the built in speaker quite often and have never had a problem. If you have the iPad in a case, you could also try taking it out of the case. Could be partially blocking the speaker.
i have a simular issue i do use bluethooth headphones wired would make no sences for me anyways i tend to watch netflix at work just wondering if anyone found a way maybe to boost the volume? or maybe apple can try and step in and not let an update pass till the volume is rasied, or someone figured out the same old hack for the phat ipod WAAAAAAAYYYYYYY back when!?! lol
Hi . My sony 65 inch tv uses a Sonos play bar to give me the sound and it works fine when using the normal channels I watch through my virgin media Tivo box. However, if i watch a program on netflix, prime or BBC i player and pause the tv program, or rewind it, when i press play again, the picture carries on but the sound stops !!!! Even if i go back to watching TV through the virgin box. The only way i can get the sound to work again is by completely switching the virgin box off, leaving for 30 secs or so, then turning it back on. When the virgin box reboots and opens up, if i go to the program i was watching on netflix etc the sound returns !!!!. I dont know if this is a problem with my Virgin box, or my TV or my Sonos playbar. Please does anyone have any suggestions to stop this from happening all of the time????? Many thanks Jimmymerlin
I had not though of that, so thankyou. With the virgin box turned off and watching prime or netflix through the TV apps, the sound works perfectly. So that must rule out a problem with my TV and Sonos playbar and point the problem towards the virgin box set up. Do you agree ? If it is the virgin box, is there a way that this can be corrected ??? Many thanks Jimmymerlin
I wouldn't also jump straight saying that the Virgin is faulty, to be fair it might only be a compatibility issue with the devices, like the Sony TV, trying to talk to the Sonos soundbar and the Virgin box at the same time, and vice versa. I would also try to test the TV with the Virgin box without the soundbar connected just to check if the issue will also occur using the TV internal speakers, or it only happens with the Sonos, then you will be able to decide if it's a Virgin issue, or just a compatibility issue.
Hi. I tested the TV sound on netflix and prime with the Sonos arc speaker completely disconnected and the sound works fine ..... it didnt stop at all when i pressed pause or rewind. I then plugged the sonos arc back in ...... and it has stopped working !!!! I have just spent nearly 1 hour on the chat message service to Sonos trying to get the speaker working again, but we ran out of time as i had to pick my wife up from work. I will contact them again tomorrow morning with the case number they gave me and try again to get my sonos arc speaker working again ! Don't I just love all of this techy stuff !!!!! Cheers Jimmy
Channels DVR (and Hulu and Amazon Prime) all have incredibly low volume levels. So low that if I turn it up to a reasonable volume, switching to any other app, the home screen, or another input results in way way too loud volume.
Just for reference, this happens on my Samsung QN65Q7DRAFXZA TV with or without my Sonos Beam plugged into the ARC port. As I am typing this, I realized that I haven't tested the device on my other TV (I might try that tomorrow if I remember).
I just picked a one of these devices (not the dongle) a month ago, and I don't have a volume level issue. Initially there was an issue with not getting any sound, but that was resolved by changing the Sound options under Device Preferences. In my case I had to turn off Dolby Digital.
After trying the device on my other TV and it still having the problem, I factory reset it. Now the volume is all reasonable now. I guess it was just some strange state the device got into (strange that it never worked for me though).
Thanks,
Josh
I had this same issue with the ONN 4k box on all apps. Turns out, if i plugged it into a device with no remote of its own to adjust volume, (such as a computer monitor) the onn box/remote would control volume on the box itself instead of on the display, So, i ended up turning it all the way up on the ONN box then moving it back to the TV that I had programmed the remote to control and the problem was solved.
It has been discovered and i can turn it on and off but i want to know what i need to do in order to create scripts/automations or whatever i need to do to setup buttons on my home assistant dashboard to directly select apps like netflix and use navigation keys up down left right etc.
Of the 1.2% of user using this integration perhaps nobody has tried what you want to accomplish. Perhaps if you showed us what you tried that filed along with any errors others could assist, you need to understand your system anyway and not just copy a solution from others. Like the pinned thread says, This is not a HelpDesk.
I just brought a Broadlink RM4 in the end and stuck it to the back of the TV with the ir blaster facing down. Apart from the direct APP selection everything else worked prefectly. I just used the above code for selecting apps directly.
I looked into pyvizio briefly back when i was looking to do this and couldnt find alot of info on getting it set up. Im pretty new to home assistant as a package and couldnt find any real guide on how pyzivio gets set up. if you could provide alittle info that would be amazing.
I still plan on using the broadlinks as i have 1 on every tv as it gives temp and humidity for the room too which is a nice touch on the dashboard but to have a better integration for the tv would be ideal.
This is what the above code does. All modern Vizio TVs implement a REST API which you can post a JSON payload to it. If you read through the Vizio API docs on Github ( _SmartCast_API), everything is described there.
Then using that AUTH code, I can send commands to the TV just like a remote control but via REST and your home network. As you can see above, it allows you to control Volume, Mute, Cycle input (like pushing the INPUT button), using the D-PAD up/down/left/right and OK buttons, display the Settings or go Back. Everything you need.
I send to it the IP, Port, AUTH code, codeset and code shown in the table above and you have a remote on your screen. I will note that the pyvizio documentation lags behind the Javascript version referenced on that page. I had to read through both to get all of the key commands (codeset and code), especially those for the D-PAD. But you have them above.
I have had 3 technicians come and nobody can fix tis problem. whenever i use apps off my samsung smart tv like netflix yourutbe fubo prime dazn everything is good. but when i go back to cable there is no sound . nobody knows why. is it my smart tv . it weird i have to turn off the tv and turn it back on for my cable to have sound. its very frustrating and i wish i never switched to ignite. can anybody help me.
On the Rogers box, go to Rogers - Settings - Device Settings - Audio - HDMI Audio Output and try the various settings there. The best when using a TV is usually "Stereo", instead of "Auto Detect" because the latter requires a handshake between the box and the TV, whereas the former doesn't. There appears to be a handshake issue between the TV and the Rogers box. Make sure that the firmware on your TV is up to date, especially if it's a few years old.
Edit - If this doesn't fix it, and you don't like turning the TV off/on, perhaps change the input on the TV to a different one (like ANT or other) and then back to the HDMI input you're using for Rogers. Another thing you can try is plugging the Rogers box into a different HDMI input, assuming the TV has one - HDMI2 instead of HDMI1 for example. Sometimes one of the inputs is designed for a particular type of signal...
Any update on this have the same TV and have similar issues, I have sound but it is lower while watching Ignite TV and any of the apps on the box (Netflix, Youtube, etc), switch to apps on Samsung TV and the apps are normal volume. Have tried different boxes, different HDMI ports, adjusted all the audio settings on the TV and Ignite Box and nothing helps.
Unfortunately, different devices can have different volume outputs. I'm not sure if the TV has an adjustment in the TV's audio setting, but you say you've tried them all. Usually the TV audio may have something like "voice enhancement" or something similar that can increase the audio somewhat, but I'm not sure if you can do that specifically for a specific input. Check out your Input and HDMI input settings on the TV for anything regarding audio. I suggest you give those a try again. You may want to download the operating manual for the TV and do a search of the PDF using terms like "volume" "audio", "Input" etc.
In doing research we use some terms you might not be familiar with. This page will help you understand how these different terms are related. When doing research we talk about finding articles which are published in journals that you find by searching a database. We subscribe to different databases from multiple content providers and each has a slightly-different interface with common features. Even though many databases look the same, they contain different resources. This ecosystem is kind of complicated, but here is a way to help you understand it.
On May 11, 2017 the CW television series Riverdale aired episode 13 of its first season. This episode, called "The Sweet Hereafter," had several important moments: Archie's father gets shot; Cheryl drops through the ice; and Cheryl burns down her house. You might have watched that episode when it aired in 2017 by accessing CW through your cable provider (Comcast, Charter, DirecTV, etc) or you might have watched it later on Netflix which you can stream because you have Internet (through Charter or AT&T or some other way). What does that have to do with research articles?
