TheAlpha 300 series is purpose-built to assist with both training and hunting. The rechargeable lithium-ion handheld battery provides up to 55 hours of battery life, so customers can hunt longer without having to recharge. If the handheld battery runs out while hunting, users can easily and quickly change to a standard or extended-life battery. Charging is now provided through an updated USB-C charging port and additional handheld batteries can be used (not included).

The Alpha 300i can provide peace of mind and global communication coverage through inReach satellite technology. With the global Iridium satellite network, users can send and receive messages, navigate their route, track and share their hunt, and if necessary, trigger an SOS to Garmin ResponseSM, the 24/7 global response coordination center1. For ease of communication with friends and family, users can connect wirelessly to the Garmin MessengerTM app on their compatible mobile devices. The new app can automatically switch between Wi-Fi connectivity, cellular and satellite network links to provide seamless on-or-off grid connectivity, as well as support group message threading.

No matter what breed of dog customers run or how they hunt, the new Alpha TT 25 and T 20 dog collars provide slim, rugged, universally sized collars designed to fit large and small breeds. While both thinner and lighter than full-size Garmin TT collars, the new Alpha TT 25 and T 20 collar still provides dog tracking capability of up to nine miles when used with a compatible Garmin handheld device. Users also can now easily change the GPS flex band using only a Phillips-head screwdriver.

One of the complaints about the Alpha 200 was that it had dull maps and the color was not very bright. Garmin Improved the color profile of the Alpha 300 to be brighter colors, which makes it easier to read the maps, especially the birdseye mapping.

The Alpha 300 offers faster processing meaning faster map loading speeds. You can quickly and easily access the information you need, adjust zoom levels, and navigate menus to track and train your dogs faster and easier.

With the Garmin Alpha 300, you have the convenience of easily creating backup files of your device's data (which includes Dog information, Other Handhelds you are tracking and Groups, Waypoints and other data. Moreover, the Alpha 300 makes it so you can effortlessly share these files wirelessly to another Garmin Alpha 300 or 300i, ensuring seamless transfer of important information between devices and essentially cloning your 300 device in the field. this is huge for customers that have multiple Handhelds and a large dog list.

To clone your Alpha 300 and transfer data to a new handheld device, follow these simple steps. First, connect your Alpha 300 to a computer using a USB cable. Access the device's storage and save a backup file containing all the necessary data. Once the file is saved, disconnect the Alpha 300 from the computer. Next, connect the new handheld device to the computer and transfer the backup file onto its storage. By doing so, you can seamlessly replicate your Alpha 300's data onto the new device, ensuring a smooth transition and continuity of your tracking and training information.

Channel View Scans is a cutting-edge feature found on the Garmin Alpha 300/300i GPS dog tracking systems, designed to prevent interference, and maintain a strong, clear signal. With Channel View Scans, the Alpha 300 will scan for available channels and select the most appropriate one to limit interference. This ensures that your Alpha 300 is always providing accurate and reliable information about your dog's location, even in areas with high radio frequency activity.

The Drag and Drop Screen Menu feature allows you to easily customize your Alpha 300/300i handheld display with the functions you use the most. Simply drag and drop your preferred functions onto the main screen, making it quick and easy to access the features you need while in the field. This user-friendly feature is similar to the drag and drop menu setup found on Android and iPhone devices, allowing for simple customization and intuitive navigation.

The Drag and Drop Screen menu feature allows you to easily customize your Alpha 300/300i handheld by dragging and dropping menu items to create shortcuts for frequently used features. This makes it easy to access the features you need without having to navigate through multiple menus. Simply add your favorite features to the shortcut menu and have them readily available at your fingertips! With the Garmin Messenger app, users can send two-way text messages, emails, or SOS alerts from anywhere in the world. The app also allows for tracking and location sharing, social media posting, and cloud storage access. Please note that Inreach services do require a subscription plan from Garmin.

Garmin claims up to 9 miles but under normal hunting conditions this is not a reasonable expectation. While the Garmin alpha 300 has almost 3 times the battery life of the Garmin Alpha 200, it is always a good idea to have a backup. However, the improved battery life of the Alpha 300 will normally be very sufficient for a single day hunt.

The Garmin Alpha 300 will come with a new and improved usb-c charging cable. This is a huge improvement over the usb charging ports of the Garmin Alpha 100 and Alpha 200 which used different USB connectors.

I like it I was able to attach it easily to my vest in a convenient spot for easy access. The only issue I have with it is that to me it feels loose I would prefer it to hold the alpha somewhat snugger.

I holds the Alpha very securely. Since I use my Alpha for tracking, I repurposed the buttons up top and made the upper right one Mark Waypoint. Apparently it got pushed quite a bit in the holster. When I completed my task, it had created over 900 waypoints.

I purchased the holster for my Garmin 200i, its a perfect fit comes with a lanyard which was a great bonus. I like how the 200i can fit in both directions and it attached to my vest or belt as needed.

Good product, seems like it will last a while and it definitely keeps the Alpha handheld well secured. The only issue I have with it is I think it would work way better if the frame was solid especially on the side against the screen. In the heat of the moment I find myself struggling to replace the handheld into the holster because the antenna always wants to come out the wrong spot.

Waited to review this product until I had several outings with it. The holster holds the Garmin Alpha 200/300 very securely, face inwards to protect from scratches yet easy to get in and out for use. The very versatile clip attaches easily to a mollie system or a belt. It has a neat clip that holds the attaching bracket in place yet removes for attachment ease. The mini biner and lanyard adds additional safety against dropping the handheld and is long enough to attach to belt loop or a clip on the Wingman vest. It is the best device for holding a Garmin handheld I have used by far. Highly recommended and a solid five star product.
