There isn't research on what younger children experience when they come across pornography. However, research involving adolescents suggests that seeing it can make some youth anxious, cause body image problems, and influence attitudes about sex.

You can say: "Watching videos that show people without clothes on is not good for kids. Some of those are too scary for you. If you see a video or photo of naked people, I want you to shut your eyes and call me or an adult you trust. I will help you turn it off. I do not want you to see it, even by accident. It is not your fault that you saw that video."

It's normal to feel surprised or shocked if you discover your young child has seen pornography. Even when children look for it on purpose, keep in mind that it's normal for children to be curious about sex and bodies.

If your child sees pornography, react in a calm way, and use a positive tone of voice and gentle words. Your feelings of shock, frustration, or worry can come across as anger, even if that's not your intention.

Based on your conversation, you'll have a better idea of how seeing the pornography affected your child. If you're concerned your child may be experiencing trauma because of something they saw, a professional counselor may be able to help.

Parental controls and internet filters can help you limit access to adult content on devices at home. However, filters shouldn't take the place of age-appropriate conversations and clear rules about pornography. It's still possible something will get past the filters, or children will see pornography elsewhere.

Recognize warning signs of sexual abuse.
In rare cases, children are shown pornography on purpose by an adult family member or acquaintance. If you are concerned that your child may have experienced sexual abuse, you can call the National Sexual Assault Hotline (RAINN) at- 800-656-HOPE (800-656-4673).

(CBS/CBS Sacramento) NORTH HIGHLANDS, Calif.--Authorities are investigating allegations of child pornography at a Northern California elementary school after officials say they discovered students passing around a photo of a naked sixth-grade girl this week, according to CBS Sacramento.

The Twin Rivers School District told the station that last weekend, a photo of the naked middle school girl from Hillsdale Elementary School, located about 15 miles northeast of Sacramento, was sent electronically to some students.

Just the week before, Julie [name changed] was having a conversation in the kitchen with her then-18-year-old son about how he was doing. The topic of pornography came up and they were discussing how it had impacted him. He had struggled with it but he now had some digital protections in place to help and it was getting better.

But if you don't immediately conjure up an image of her reading a storybook to a group of first-graders, you will now. TMZ reports that Grey was brought in to Emerson Elementary School in Compton on November 2 as part of the Read Across America program. The site has posted pictures of the actress animatedly entertaining a classroom full of kids, and after leaving the school, Grey tweeted the experience: "Spent the am with Read Across America Compton, reading to the sweetest 1st & 3rd grade students @ Emerson Elementary!," she wrote.

While she said her son should have been suspended for using his cell phone during class, which is a violation of school policy, she objects to the accusation of "pornography possession/distribution" listed on the suspension form. She said it wrongly labels her son and puts a damaging mark on his school record.

Canyons School District spokesman Jeff Haney said because of FERPA, a law that protects the privacy of students, he is prohibited from making comments on any discipline case. The school's definition of a pornographic image is guided by state code 76-10-1203. That code defined a pornographic image as any that:

Fourth, seeing pornography impacts on what children believe about sex and intimacy, and that affects their behaviour; especially their risky behaviours around sex. They found people get hurt because of pornography.

Remember, your child may be upset about finding pornography, or if she was searching around curiously, even a little traumatised that it was more explicit than she could have imagined. We need to be supportive and understanding, acknowledging how upsetting it can be to see these types of things.

In a perfect world, you will have been having positive conversations about sex and intimacy with your children from an early age. A discussion about pornography may not have been in your plans, but accidental exposure to this kind of content demands a response. These tips can provide a useful springboard to further ongoing healthy conversations about intimate topics with your children.

Some parents feel that pornography is a normal part of growing up and learning about sexuality. (Unfortunately, pornography has become so violent and degrading that kids can learn very disturbing and harmful lessons about sex online.)

When we are in a panic, our imaginations sometimes run wild. We can easily begin to believe the worst about how our child was exposed to porn, why they looked at it, and all the other things they may be trying to hide.

If you start searching for info about porn addiction, you will find a lot of heartbreaking stories along with recovery advice and addiction research. Worst-case scenarios can make us fearful and suspicious - but they will probably not ever apply to your child.

Now that you have had that first talk about their experience with pornography, it is mission-critical to follow up over time to see how they are doing. Top pornography addiction therapist, Dr. Adam Moore, encourages parents to engage in multiple conversations with their kids about pornography.

"I really like the no-shame approach the author takes. It's so much more than just 'don't watch or look at porn.' It gave my children a real understanding about the brain and its natural response to pornography, how it can affect you if you look at it, and how to be prepared when you do come across it (since, let's face it... it's gonna happen at some point)." -Amazon Review by D.O.

But, of course, Hustler was not serious. Starting with its first issue, in July 1974, and continuing nonstop for four decades, it displayed glossy, full-color photos of female genitalia, pictured naked women in demeaning poses and often depicted group sex and sex-toy fetishes.

TONY: And you went to Wesleyan, which Gawker once named the "Most Annoying Liberal Arts School." True?
Lin-Manuel Miranda: In certain circles we could be considered annoying. It's a very ultra-liberal school. I lived in the naked dorm.

TONY: You requested it?
Lin-Manuel Miranda: No, it's just where I landed. Though I actually posed naked for some art classes for cash. I did a shot of Captain Morgan and stood up there.

The FBI took Greg Stephen, co-founder of the Iowa Barnstormers traveling team, into custody after a judge signed a warrant charging him with knowingly transporting child pornography. The charge carries 15 to 30 years in prison.

Packages containing a human foot and hand were discovered at two schools in Vancouver on yesterday, in what could be the latest gruesome twist in the case of a Canadian porn actor suspected of dismembering and eating his former lover.

A copy of what police believe is the video of the killing, viewed online by AP, shows a man with an ice pick stabbing another naked, bound male. He also dismembers the corpse and performs sexual acts with it.
