Hi, does anyone know where to get a internal seal kit for L600 bucket lift cylinder? Fluid is shooting out between the shaft and seal, inside end of shafts seal looks ok ,but will replace all while it is a part, if kits are still available. I just flushed out old F auto transmission fluid and replaced with Napa 85-105 R & O hydraulic oil,and changed 1551 filter, still stalls onan engine when turning.Anyone have any suggestions? Again thanks Greg

I had to take mine to hydraulics shop but it was because shaft was slightly bent. Couldn't tell until seals didn't work.
I have a parts manual. They have them on eBay. L600 and L700 same except engine a little bigger.

found all the seals at a shop here in Des Moines for $18. I have a list of their part numbers if you want to order them. My cylinders are the lock wire type, don't know if other use the same seals.

I have all the seal part numbers from a shop in Des Moines, cost was about $18 for everything. I'll send you a copy of the list so you can order from them if you want. My cylinders are the lock wire type, not sure if the other types are the same.

Ken F I am interested in the part numbers for the seals you mentioned in this post. I have the part number for the cylinder seal kit from Rounder, but the local shop can not cross reference it. Do you know what brand of cylinder yours is? Mine is also the lock ring style. Any help will sure be appreciated. Thank you.

I sold my machine to a mechanic that loves it. I'll look for the part numbers. We completely rebuilt it. Very common seals and bearings.

I’m going to be tearing into the boom cylinders on my L600 some time soon as I blew out the seal on the left side wile smashing up some big balls of clay. I was worried that I wasn’t going to be able to unscrew the ends but fortunately a large pipe wrench moved it with ease ! I’ll be sure to post up any info that I gather for yall !

Greg, you can take the cylinders apart and take the caps down to a local hydraulic shop.  They can find the right seals for you there.  It's not too bad.  I think I was about 20 bucks or so for the pair of cylinders.
Make sure if you do one you do both at the same time.  otherwise you will just blow out the seals in the other cylinder and have to do it anyway.
As for stalling out the engine?  That could be a few things. One, you are still using the Onan engine which is, in my opinion, a under powered engine that is SUPER expensive to maintain.  Best bet would be to re-power to something larger.  Second, it could be that your hoses are connected incorrectly.  I did that were I switched the flow and return lines to the cylinders.  It didn't really work.  One I figured out my mistake that helped.  the third option is that your pumps are going bad.

HI. I would appreciate a list of part numbers for hydraulic cylinders.
My machine I think is an L-9xxx machine (no identifying marks).
Thanks.

Hello Group,

From my amateur research I found that Rounder used a number of different manufacturers for cylinders based on the vintage of the machine.

The good news is that whoever was low bidder used industry standard components.  At least thats what I've experienced on the two that I have owned.  One unit has cylinders with aluminum end caps and the other has cylinders with cast iron end caps.  But the good news is that the cylinder dimensions and parts are the same for both.

I did some measuring and double checking to be sure but the list that Aaron Pfeifer posted from Martin Fluid Power was correct.  The only thing missing from the list was one common O-ring that goes in the I.D. of the piston. I was able to buy that O-ring with dimensions of ( 1" x 3/4" x 1/8" ) at the local Ace Hardware.

I have attached a PDF of the part numbers I ended up ordering from Martin Fluid Power. When I called they were SUPER helpful.  The lady I spoke to was very knowledgeable about seals and she modified two part numbers from what Arron had listed.  One was just an updated part number because she said it was cheaper to buy the bag quantity of 15 than the 8 I asked for and then the U-Cup seal she said the one she was recommending was a newer material that was supposed to perform better over time...

When I did my bucket tilt cylinders I took a few pictures of the disassembled cylinders and all the parts.  I share a link to that photo album below.  Please note I have the Piston on the rod backwards in the photos -  The piston goes on the opposite way with the big split ring closest to the nut, NOT the way my picture shows.  My advice is also to buy the proper Pin Spanner wrench for the job. It makes both disassembly and re-assembly a breeze and you won't destroy the end caps with a pipe wrench...

Hope this helps...

Hi I was wondering why there is no part number for the wear ring on piston ? Did you guys just not worry about replacing that part when you rebuilt your cylinders ?

Hello Scott,

911LT1 here... Or Kurt Zellmann really... I will second Arron again, my wear rings did not exhibit any signs of wear so I didn't bother replacing them either... Frankly the are oversized for the cylinder application based on other cylinders I've had apart...

Good luck with your project!

Sincerely,

KZ-911LT1

Can anyone confirm if the parts listed for the L600 are compatible with the L700? I have a very leaky lift cylinder on my L700.
