Anyone else had issues with cracking welds where the motors mount to the chassis?
I ended up torching mine out and fabbing up new plates out of 1/2" plate.  The originals weren't even 1/4" and were very mangled.

Here you can see the left side cracked weld that had been repaired at least once before by a previous owner.

New plates in place with new chains, wheel bearings, seals, etc...

Looking at the parts manual they list a "new" style chassis.  Maybe they addressed this later on.  Anyone have any pictures of or similar experiences with theirs?

Hello Erik,
Yes there has been a little discussion on this in the past. Please search '911LT1 hack' for more info,  then search for Dozer, John_w for more information for the pictures they have posted in the past.

Interesting, good to know I'm not the only one with this issue.  My machine is up and running now, I was going to post here with questions and photos last spring but I only a few days ago had my group membership accepted.  Was quite a process fixing it up.  New hydraulic pump, resealed the spool valve and the Ross motors, a few new hoses, like I mentioned the wheel bearings/seals/chains.  A little fab work for the plates, I had photos but can't find them now.  A lot of work sure, but including purchase price I'm into this machine under $2000.  Can't beat that!
The 1/2" plate upgrade works great so far, maybe 50 hours on the clock since I got her back together, mostly moving snow.

Previous owner figured she needed a new look so he painted it Ford blue/New Holland gray (or vise versa?).  Not a bad look to me as I'm a Ford guy!

Erik that paint scheme looks great. My father got his L600 running again in 2019. Same deal, used mostly for snow removal.

Yes just had to rewelded my right side motor brackets. Look like welds was missed at the bottom or to small welds when Manufactured. Surprised it took over 40 years to brake the top welds.
