Max, Members of the group have PMed pictures and dimensions to other
members in the past. I wish they had posted the information so future
members had it available. Don't toss the cage. It is in perfect shape to
ship by freight to someone who needs it. When I get back to Iowa, I'll try
to get pictures and dimensions on my father's L600 cage. I'd like to put it
on cad and post it so any local fabricator can build one.

From the manuals and specs I have, the L-516, L600, and L700 have identical
frames. The cage should fit any of these models. The L-516 (which I've
never seen or heard of) has skinny tires and bucket - 36" wide. The L-600
was sold as 36" or 42" wide. The L700 was sold as 42" wide.

What part of MA are you in? I've lived in the Boston area since '85.

I have one, but I am in Idaho

Dave, I've read all the posts on this group. I think your machine has
migrated the farthest West so far and I think Max's machine is the farthest
East.

im out of Milton and had to drive out to the great lakes region to get my
L700. I have made myself a new updated cage and plan on making a full
restoration and upgrade to it and document most of it in a video. im still
getting a hang of groups and trying to find how to PM people, not reply all
everytime, and search easier. for the L516 I am interested in any
information you might have on it, i can only imagine it was experimental,
special purpose, one off, or just mislabeled.

"mfmcal...@yahoo.com" <mfmcal...@yahoo.com>: Feb 24 05:00PM -0800

The only info I have on the L-516 is the combo owners manual I have
scanned. I just found an L500 on YouTube. It has a single bucket
piston. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K4zNtRmzuYk
"mfmcal...@yahoo.com" <mfmcal...@yahoo.com>: Feb 24 02:34PM -0800

Max, I am interested in the same information. If you track it down please
post it. Look up Gehl in the group. A few people have made the same comment
that you have and a parts manual was posted in 2020.

I know the company was Oakes Manufacturing, Inc. Industrial Park Oakes, ND
58474 701.742.3284 Somewhere in the group it is mentioned that the name
changed to Prime Mover at some point. Before the internet, I used to call a
library to get information. Oakes ND probably has one. Try giving them a
call. - Mark

p.s. I will be uploading my father's Rounder manuals etc. to Scott's (SWR -
group owner) shared Google Drive soon. I have already uploaded his Onan
manuals.

I was able to track down an original owners manual on ebay for the rounder
600 and 700. I also downloaded a complete breakdown with prlart numbers and
cross ref numbers. I too have just purchased a L700.

Steve, Nice! If you have a chance, scan the original copy and post it. My
copy is for L516, L-600, L700 so I bet your copy is newer. I can't remember
where I got the L700 parts manual but it is clear and looks newer than the
rest of my dad's stuff. - Mark
Redacted <maxstr...@gmail.com>: Feb 24 03:56PM -0800

i just went through ebay and bought any prime mover, Ghel 360, and rounder
literature i could find for the smaller stuff and im putting together a
binder of it all, i might go through and create a PDF scan of each and
upload it or look into making a website with all the information.
Regarding the number you posted, is that a current number for Oakes MFG.?

"mfmcal...@yahoo.com" <mfmcal...@yahoo.com>: Feb 24 04:46PM -0800

Sounds good, let us know when you post it.
No, that number is off a sales brochure my Dad has. As far as I know Oakes
is out of business for some time now.
However, the Oakes Public Library info is: 804 Main Ave., Oakes, ND 58474 (701)
742-3234, ext. 155 Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday 1:30-5:30 pm Wednesday
1:30-7:30 pm Friday 1:30-3:30 pm
You might find a nice librarian who has the info you are looking for.

I think this is the same as a Rounder L-700 but not sure. I cant find much
info out there on it. Is there any way to adjust the chain tension other
than taking links out of the chain? I haven't torn it apart yet but would
like to have what I need on hand when I do. Also any service manuals out
there for download? Thanks
"mfmcal...@yahoo.com" <mfmcal...@yahoo.com>: Feb 24 03:20PM -0800

Todd, I will be uploading my father's Rounder manuals etc. to Scott's (SWR
- group owner) shared Google Drive soon. The 42" wide 600 and 700 are
identical except the 700 has the 3rd pedal for the bucket accessory and a
larger 18hp engine (600=16hp). The lift capacity for a L600 is 600 lbs.,
however the lift capacity for a L700 is only 650lbs. I'll email you the
700 files I have. If you have an Onan engine or Predator engine let me
know. I've got some of those manuals too.
