to Rounder
I have a Rounder skid steer which I believe to be the L-600. It has a Onan 18hp. I need some help with belt replacement procedures. The bearing went out of idler pulley and smoked the belt. It is a double belt. I have seen on some posts reference to sliding a coupler of the lovejoy to one side to create a gap to slip the belt through. Problem is I don not appear to have a lovejoy coupler but a direct hookup with one keyway and a single bolt bearing down on the key. In order to seperate this it appears the motor needs to be disconnected from the mounting plate and the keyway bolt removed and the engine slid back separating the output shaft from the pulley?? I have also seen where it says you can remove the bottom skid plate to access the gas tank however the skid plate on this machine is all part of the frame. It looks like the whole engine cradle with all 3 pumps attached most be removed to access the gas tank and the bottom of the engine mounting plate to get at the engine mount nuts. If anyone out there can shed any light on any of this I would greatly appreciate it. Hard to believe any engineer would design something this ridiculous that you would need to go through just to change a belt. Evidently they built these machines by the seat of their pants and do not have any one single design on any one model. I can attach photos if needed. Any help greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Jeff

I have a L600 with a 20hp Onan engine, on the back of my machine there is a plate that can be unbolted and allows the gas tank to slide out. Once the gas tank is out you can access the other side of the bolts for the engine. The engine bolts can be loosened, the plate is slotted that the engine is bolted to, you can slide the engine back maybe 4"-5" to slide in a new belt. It is easier said than done.

I do not have the love joy connection, it is the two sprokets with the double chain. This is attached to the drive pump with a shear pin, at one time it had a keyway and set bolt however the set bolt must of broke at some point and it was replaced with a shear pin. . access to the fuel tank is not an option without removing the complete engine cradle and all three pumps or at least removing the pumps from the cradle. The engine bracket is not slotted either on my machine. Rounder must of made revisions weekly. They were a good machine in their time. Problem being now they are all completely worn out. Most not worth rebuilding. Thanks for the input, I just dug into the one I have and figured it out in the process.
