Hi, Im new to the group and I found everyone here by doing some more research after obtaining myself a L700 and looking more into it.  I have been trying to get more information on Rounder/Prime Mover.  I got as far as seeing Gehl had the 360 which is essentially the L600 but just with T handles, and I found one article saying prime mover was bought out by Toyota's forklift division a while ago.  I was wondering if anyone has more information on what actually happened or some interesting history on the company, I am trying to collect as much literature and information on them as possible.

Max, I am interested in the same information. If you track it down please post it. Look up Gehl in the group. A few people have made the same comment that you have and a parts manual was posted in 2020.

I know the company was Oakes Manufacturing, Inc. Industrial Park Oakes, ND 58474 701.742.3284  Somewhere in the group it is mentioned that the name changed to Prime Mover at some point. Before the internet, I used to call a library to get information. Oakes ND probably has one. Try giving them a call. - Mark

p.s. I will be uploading my father's Rounder manuals etc. to Scott's (SWR - group owner) shared Google Drive soon. I have already uploaded his Onan manuals.

I was able to track down an original owners manual on ebay for the rounder 600 and 700. I also downloaded a complete breakdown with prlart numbers and cross ref numbers. I too have just purchased a L700.

Steve,  Nice!  If you have a chance, scan the original copy and post it. My copy is for L516, L-600, L700 so I bet your copy is newer. I can't remember where I got the L700 parts manual but it is clear and looks newer than the rest of my dad's stuff.  - Mark

i just went through ebay and bought any prime mover, Ghel 360, and rounder literature i could find for the smaller stuff and im putting together a binder of it all, i might go through and create a PDF scan of each and upload it or look into making a website with all the information.  Regarding the number you posted, is that a current number for Oakes MFG.?

Sounds good, let us know when you post it.
No, that number is off a sales brochure my Dad has. As far as I know Oakes is out of business for some time now.
However, the Oakes Public Library info is: 804 Main Ave., Oakes, ND 58474  (701) 742-3234, ext. 155  Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday 1:30-5:30 pm  Wednesday 1:30-7:30 pm  Friday 1:30-3:30 pm
You might find a nice librarian who has the info you are looking for.
