Hi,

I want to create a rectangle image, with a round cornered rectangle
cut out of it (i.e. the cut out bit is transparent) so ultimately, I
can make a square image the background of a html table, and then place
this image in the content of the table to, in effect, round the
corners of the image beneath it.

I need to do this because I cannot round the corners of each
individual image I need to display.

Does that make sense?

Any ideas?

Makes sense to me. You're just placing the transparent image on top of
the square image, so the square's corners become rounded.

Are you able to get this to work?
