Greetings--
It's shaping up to be a busy year for the Rothshanks. We wanted to update you on some upcoming events:
Justin will be exhibiting his ceramic wares at the
American Craft Council show in Baltimore next week. If you're in the Baltimore area, be sure to stop by booth #1705 and say hello. The show dates are Feb 23 - 28. Justin has created lots of new work for the show, including some new large handled soup bowls, extra large mugs, and bicycle plates.
Immediately after the ACC show, Justin will begin a 6 week visiting artist stay at
Baltimore Clayworks . He will be leading an exciting art project called
1000 Cups of Hope with the community artists at
Jubilee Art Center in the Sandtown/Winchester neighborhoods of Baltimore. He'll also be teaching some decal classes and firing the Clayworks Noborigama. Be sure to stop and see us in Baltimore if you're in the area.
At the end of the stay in Baltimore, Brooke, Justin, and Layton will head to Chicago for the
Chicago International . Brooke will be exhibiting more than 15 new miniature paintings, including brand new Amish themed pieces. In June Brooke will be teaching a miniature painting in egg tempera class at the
International Guild of Miniature Artisans Guild School in Castine, Maine.
In July, Justin plans to build a new wood kiln at our home studios in Goshen, Indiana. He's busy collecting bricks and other kiln building supplies now. Let us know if you're interested in learning how to build a kiln.
