Hi Lab,

As you may know we got a MixMate plate mixer:

It allows to mix tubes and micro-well plates (96 and 384) at high speed and narrow orbital radius. This is very useful to mix e.g. glycerol stocks and PCR reactions.

I made a test and you can mix up to 70 uL of liquid per well in a 384 well Greiner plate (e.g. 35uL culture + 35uL glycerol). Higher volumes will spill out of the well.

If your plate is sealed you may not  care about spills, but I like the volume not to touch the seal, because when thawing the contents one has less chance of cross-contamination by removing the seal.

I placed the mixer in between the other Eppendorf Mixer and the Electorphoresis. Adapters for tubes are in the drawer beneath.
