As a part of our Fellowship Programme, Rotary International District
3290 intends to celebrate the Bengali New Year in a typical Bengali
style in the form of an enjoyable and meaningful Adda with
contemporary and traditional cultural programme.

 

The event has been structured to ensure full enjoyment in true Rotary
Spirit with a befitting ambience and sumptuous food. We expect
a number of celebrities to join us on that evening. The quality of
Fellowship will be also of the highest order.

RI BOARD ACTS ON NEW MEMBER REPORTING
________________________________________________________

 

At its October/November 2007 meeting, the RI Board agreed to
establish a timeline for clubs to report their new members. The
Board made this change to facilitate the 2007 Council on
Legislation's action to change to a monthly collection cycle for
prorated RI membership dues.

 

Under the new system, every Rotarian pays for each FULL month
of club membership. For example, a new member who joins the
club on the 1st of the month pays dues beginning with that month,
but a member joins on the 3rd pays dues beginning with the next
month. New members must be reported within six months of
joining their Rotary club.

 

 

 

2010 COUNCIL ON LEGISLATION DEADLINES
________________________________________________________

 

Proposed legislation from districts and clubs for the 2010 Council
on Legislation must be received at RI headquarters on or before
31 December 2008.

 

Each district is encouraged to endorse and propose no more than
five legislative items. Club proposals must first be endorsed by the
district in order to be presented to the Council. Amendments to
proposals are due no later than 31 March 2009.

 

The Council, which convenes every three years, has the authority
to amend RI's constitutional documents and adopt resolutions.
Every district selects a representative to attend the weeklong
meeting and vote on legislation. Representatives to the 2010
Council, to be held in April in Chicago, must be selected no later
than 30 June 2008.
