From DR AYUB AYUB <drayu...@yahoo.com> wrote:
Date: Mon, 24 Dec 2007

Greeting from Rotary District 3270 Pakistan and Afghanistan,

I need your help for a child, who is suffering from a heart problem.
He has a hole in his heart. His parents are not able to afford his
operation.Have you any contact with any hospital in Calcutta or any
where in India or do you know of any club or can your club support
this child for an open heart surgery free of cost in India?

If you can help or know of any club that can support this child
please inform me. I will then send you the medical reports of this
child for checking by the doctors. Really due to some efforts we
can save the life of a child who would otherwise die.

yours in Rotary

AN INVITATION TO ROTARIAN DOCTORS
________________________________________________________

MISSION NIGERIA

As already informed by DG Anirudhha Roy Choudhury, Districts 3290
and 3240 are jointly putting together a dream project – a Medical
Mission to Nigeria. The Mission would comprise of Rotary doctors in
the field of Ophthalmology, ENT Care, Dentistry, General surgery,
Gynaecology, Anaesthesiology and Orthopaedics.

Dist 3290 seeks reference of doctors ready to volunteer their time
and service for this noble mission for about two weeks sometime in
April 2008. I wish to give some clarifications concerning medical
qualification as eligibility requirement for giving permission to work
in Nigeria. The emphasis would be on their being specialists in their
various fields, not so much on where they schooled. Our Nigerian
Rotary partners would like to have ahead and in good time, their
various qualifications, so they can begin the process of the permits
in good time. It has been opined that since their stay is for a very
brief period, there should be no difficulties in procuring the permits from
Federal and States Ministries of Health in Nigeria.

We would, therefore, shortlist the selection of doctors, who are
holding Postgraduate degrees from reputed Indian medical institutions
such as AIIMS, New Delhi or PGI, Chandigarh. Holding British degrees
would, of course, be readily acceptable to Nigerian authorities who
have the same system. Doctors having an urge to perform and help
less fortunate along with vast experience of working in similar conditions
during their medical career.

Rtn Dr Aruna Tantia, District Chair, Grants Promotion, was in Sierra
Leone Team as a Gynaecologist, and has this to say: "I urge Rotarian
doctors to come forward to take this life time opportunity and serve
the less deprived. The team which went to SL are again eager to go,
it may be noted."

In view of holiday period during last week of December 2007, the l
ast date for submission of applications has been extended to January 7,
2008. Kindly send your letter to District Governor's office along with
bio-data of the surgeon and passport size photograph in duplicate.

________________________________________________________

FROM THE "ROTI" EMAIL GROUP 20-DEC-2007

Dear ROTI-ans
Greetings.

I'm glad to share with you that all Indian Rotary Clubs that are
perceiving Matching Grants now need not apply for the FCRA since
Govt. of India vide notification No.II/21022/14(1)/2003-FCRA I
dated 12-12-2007 has given FCRA waiver for Rotary Clubs and
Rotary Districts for a period of 2 years from 1-4-2007
to 31-03-2009

This is great news for us so that we can go ahead with our
Matching Grant Projects and processing without any restriction
