Aadhaar - Unique Identity Number

Dear Friends,

After a long wait, the enrolment for the Unique Identity Number AADHAAR has started at Trichy.

IOB Regional Office, opposite All India Radio is one of the primary centers. And other branches of IOB like Thillainagar, and Jamal College Branches have also been designated for this purpose.

We have attached a copy of the Enrolment Form, to familiarize you with the requisite documents required for enrolling for AADHAAR.

The enrolment process involves :
 - submission of the completed application
-  xerox copies of Proof of Identity and Proof of Address
- IRIS Scan of the eyes
- Finger Print Scan
- Photographing

The entire process could take between 10 minutes to 30 minutes depending on the network speed. Since the computers performing these operations are connected to a national central server.

WHAT IS AADHAAR ?

Aadhaar is a 12 digit individual identification number issued by the Unique Identification Authority of India on behalf of the Government of India.
This number will serve as a proof of identity and address, anywhere in India.
Any individual, irrespective of age and gender, who is a resident in India and satisfies the verification process laid down by the UIDAI can enrol for Aadhaar.
Each individual needs to enroll only once which is free of cost.
Each Aadhaar number will be unique to an individual and will remain valid for life. Aadhaar number will help you provide access to services like banking, mobile phone connections and other Govt and Non-Govt services in due course.
