Dear President,
Nominations are hereby invited from all eligible clubs to suggest duly qualified Nominees to the Nomination Committee for the election of DG 2020-21 of our District.
As per section 3 of Article XI of our District Bye-Law, to be eligible:
Section 3: Qualifications:
a) To be eligible for election to the membership of the Nominating Committee in any of the
groups mentioned in Section 2, a Rotarian must fulfill the following requirements.
i) He has been a Rotarian in good standing in clubs within the District for at least five
years and atleast 3 years in the club proposing his candidature as on July 1st of Rotary
Year in which he offers himself as candidate.
ii) He has served as a President of a Rotary Club in the district for a complete term.
iii) He is not a Past District Governor, District Governor Elect or District Governor
Nominee.
iv) He has attended at least two District Conferences and two District Assemblies in
the past four years.
v) A Certificate from the club President for fulfilling the above qualifications shall be sent
along with the recommendations from the club.
b) Any Candidate for membership of the committee whether elected or not, or one who is
elected and subsequently resigns from the Committee, shall not be eligible to be nominated
as Governor –Nominee in the year the Committee serves.
c) A Rotarian who has previously served as a member of the Nominating Committee shall not
be eligible for re-election to the committee until three years have passed since he served on
the committee. Similarly, no club can have its member on the committee for two consecutive
years.
d) Only those clubs who have paid their Rotary International per capita dues and District dues
up to the year immediately preceding the Rotary year in which the nomination is made shall
be eligible to propose a candidate for membership of the committee.
e) The District Governor shall ensure that the qualification laid down is strictly adhered to.
If you wish to suggest a candidate from your club, such suggestion shall be submitted in the form of a Resolution adopted at a regular meeting of your club, nominating the candidate. Resolution shall be certified by President/Secretary on club letter head. Please send the Resolution in your letter head to the District Secretariat before 5 pm on Thursday, 3rd October 2017.
The Nomination Committee shall be selected and constituted as per RI Rules and the schedule of the events attached herewith.
To be eligible for the member of the nominating committee for the Election of DG, the club has to pay all the Dues, including RI, District and Magazine.
Kindly ensure that the guidelines of RI be strictly followed regarding campaigning, canvassing and electioneering. Any deviation from these norms will be viewed seriously and will invite penal action from RI.
Attached herewith are the Nomination Form, Resolution, Election Schedule and details of Zones for election of the Nominating Committee.
