Dear Watamu Rotarians

Dabaso Conservation Group have confirmed that they can organise a planting event on behalf of the Club on Saturday 19 May

They will invite other local stakeholders and school children to make it a special mangrove forest awareness day.

Benjamin Karisa is the group’s chairman and contact person 0718 734367 (and copied above)

We will need to raise 10,000/- for the event to cover seedling collection costs, transport and refreshments

Please contact Benjamin for more details and to arrange for a planning meeting prior to the event.

Another great event will be in June when we celebrate World Environment Day with a big Watamu beach cleanup (date to be arranged)

Best regards

Steve

Thanks Rtn Steve

Are you and Benjamin able to attend our next fellowship to be held on Thursday, May 3 at Turtle Bay at 1915 for 1930?

You had mentioned that planting needs to be at 2 hours past low tide.  Low tide is at 1232 that day.  So what time should we start?
