Dear club leaders,

Some exciting changes will make it easier and faster for clubs to connect with the more than 30,000 prospective members each year who indicate their interest at rotary.org/join

When someone who’s interested in joining a club submits their interest, their information becomes a membership lead. The current system sends the membership lead to district leaders, who review each lead and assign it for follow-up to a club that fits the person’s needs.

Soon, however, Rotary will be launching a new system to manage membership leads. This system, using technology from Salesforce, will streamline the process and allow clubs to directly receive leads and contact prospective members.

These prospective members will be able to select the club they find most interesting and suitable based on the information presented about it, such as location and meeting time.

Your club’s president, membership chair, secretary, and executive secretary will then be asked via email to visit the membership leads management page, connect with the candidate, and report on the process. District leaders will still be available to provide support if a prospective member isn’t a good match for your club.

In the coming weeks, we’ll share more details about how the new system will help you easily connect with prospective members.

What can club leaders do right now?

  • Be sure that all your club officers have a My Rotary account. As with the current process, access to membership leads starts by signing in to My Rotary.
  • Ensure that information about your club, including meeting details and location, is correct in My Rotary as well as on your club’s website and social media. This will make your club more visible to prospective members.
  • Continue using Rotary’s existing membership leads process. We’ll keep you informed about the upcoming changes and the expected launch date. Until then, don’t miss out on prospective members who want to connect with your club.

We expect these changes to create a better experience for club leaders and prospective members.

Thank you for your continued collaboration in growing Rotary!

Sincerely,
Brian King
