Membership Minute
December 2025 Ideas for strengthening membership
Your future members are ready to get involved
Each January, we see a noticeable surge in interest in joining Rotary. Many prospective members are eager to connect with a local club, seeking opportunities for friendship, community service, and personal growth. If your club is interested in connecting with these prospective members, start by confirming that your club’s information is up to date in My Rotary and on your club’s website and social media accounts.

It’s important to make sure prospective members are aware of what Rotary has to offer and how they can get involved with your club. Use the new
Taking Action With Rotary presentation to provide an overview of Rotary to these prospective members. The presentation is structured as a continuous narrative, explaining what Rotary is and what we do.
Growing membership for Rotary’s 125th anniversary
We’re dedicated to growing Rotary by increasing the number of Rotarians to 1.25 million by 2030, while keeping the number of Rotaractors above 125,000. This growth goal aims to celebrate a significant milestone, Rotary’s 125th anniversary, reflecting a century and a quarter of service, leadership, and friendship around the globe. Together, we aspire to cultivate a vibrant and diverse organization that truly embodies our core values and mission. Developing new clubs is a key strategy for our membership growth. Learn more on the Start a Club page.
Nominate a member for the Rotary Foundation Distinguished Service Award
The Rotary Foundation’s Distinguished Service Award honors Rotarians and Rotaractors who have demonstrated exemplary service to the Foundation and who received the Citation for Meritorious Service at least four years earlier. During the month of January, any Rotarian or Rotaractor can nominate one candidate for this award by submitting an online nomination form.

Why I said yes to Rotary and why you should too
