demos by Bluetile Skateboards and Flatbottom Skateboards Team Riders.
Bring the family and hang out on the deck of the Fifth Avenue Deli

WHY:
With no public skateparks in Columbia, Go Skateboarding Day helps
prevent potential injury to children forced to look for places to
skateboard that may place them in harm's way. Go Skateboarding Day
highlights the need for a safe place for skateboarders in Columbia to
recreate on a daily basis.
About Go Skateboarding Day:
(Columbia, SC) On Saturday, June 21 skateboarders around the globe
will celebrate the pure exhilaration, creativity, and spirit of one of
the most influential activities in the world by blowing off all other
obligations to go skateboarding!
Skateboarders everywhere will hold fundraisers, contests, protests,
demo's, they'll skate across cities, gather in skateparks, stream into
their local skate shop and some will even revel in the solitary act of
skateboarding alone, all bringing together the skateboarding community
in the grind heard around the world. POUR IT NOW will continue their
effort to raise awareness and funds to replace the park at Owens
Field.
POUR IT NOW, in conjunction with Bluetile Skateboards & Red Bull
present National Go Skateboarding Day at Fifth Avenue Deli. The event
will provide the skateboarders of Columbia a free, fun, safe place to
spend National Go Skateboarding Day. Bring your skateboard and come
roll around.

Throughout the free event, food and refreshments will be available for
purchase, as well as merchandise to benefit POUR IT NOW, the local
non-profit working to replace the skatepark formally at Owens Field.
National Go skateboarding day is only one of 365 days that skaters are
looking for a fun, safe place to recreate. The skateboarders of
Columbia can't wait to skate the new Wally Hollyday designed
skateparkpark. The only thing left to do is build it.
