Hi friends! I made this quick sheet about Martin Luther King, Jr. and simplified the I Have a Dream Speech because I was very puzzled to realize that the current school curriculum doesn’t seem to teach our kids very much about him. I shared it with a few other moms and they all felt the same way—that their kids really don’t seem to know much about him (especially compared to how it was when we grew up) and they appreciated this, so I thought I’d share it with you too. An idea from Mai is to have kids write their own I Have a Dream Speech. For 4th graders, you could have them practice making a title page (like they do for VA Studies) about MLK. Just thoughts to share.
Hope you are staying warm and having fun and that the kids are happy and busy ;)
