Dear All,
Sadly one of Rosehill's longest standing residents passed away on Saturday March 29th.
I'm not sure how many of you knew Frank but felt I should send out a brief email to everyone.
Frank built his own log house 'Pine Lodge' and has lived on Rosehill since 2003 after moving from a larger property in Little Petherick.
Those of you who knew him will know that he was on Newquay lifeboat crew for over twenty years.
He was also a fisherman, owning and skippering several fishing vessels out of Newquay and Padstow over a forty year period, and a key member of Newquay Rowing Club. Rowing and coxing over many years and winning numerous events including The Independence Day Cup in New York, beating US Navy, US Coastguard and NATO crews with a crew of nine volunteer lifeboatmen from Newquay.
Frank's funeral therefore is to be held outdoors on Newquay harbour between the lifeboat and the rowing club*. Frank's family are welcoming anyone who wishes to join them on Friday April 11th at 11am.
Best Wishes,
Ness.
*The family are requesting donations rather than flowers. Donations are to be divided between Newquay Rowing Club and the lifeboat. I'm not sure if that refers to the RNLI or a Newquay Lifeboat Fund specifically ( I'm sure you know there are separate funds for individual lifeboats in many cases- aside from RNLI fundraising ) A larger share of the donations will go to the rowing club.
