This just in from our previous VSer, Christy (Miller) Hesed, now in graduate school in Maryland. She wants to know about our progress with community gardening! We hope this gives us a "spark" as we work for YES from the Trustees on Sunday to use one (or more) of our vacant lots for Spring planting.

Our six top choices are:

1. 2303 S. Early (use the vacant lot just S. of the VS house)
2. 2300 S. Early (vacant lot across the street, W. of VS house)
3. 1500 SW Blvd (on NW corner of SW Blvd. & Mill St., across the street, W. of the church)
4. 2340 S. Mill St. (W. of Mill, middle of the block)
5. 2328 S. Mill St. (W. of Mill, on the SW corner of Stinson Ave. & Mill St.)
6. 2332 S. Early (N. of new parking lot)

Hi Phil,

I'm just taking a little break from my studies to go through some old e-mails. I've been meaning to check with you to see how the garden project at Rainbow is going. Is it still in the planning process? Is there much enthusiasm for it in the congregation?

Kyle and I are doing well out here in Maryland. The spring semester just started for us last week and we are feeling particularly busy after a rather long and relaxing winter break. I'm still keenly interested in sustainable agriculture projects, and am looking for an internship in the DC area that will allow me to continue with that work. Unfortunately, there is no place to garden in our apartment complex, so I have to content myself with dreams for a future plot of earth.

I better get back to the books now! Please pass greetings from us to folks at Rainbow.

Best,
Christy
