to Rainbow Community Gardens
We tilled on Tuesday morning, planted Tuesday evening and watered
Thursday morning. Our area received a good rain Thursday evening.
Saturday morning we watered again. And Sunday afternoon, when we went
to water some more, the radishes had sprouted!
I think the weather is on our side, and this Fall planting will bear
much "fruit." Come join us and enjoy caring for these tender young
plants, as we explore Ted Zerger's dictum that "vegetable gardens grow
vegetables, community gardens grow people."
So far, our Rainbow volunteers include:
Bernita, R.C. Masonbrink, Diane Eickhoff, Marsha and me
Volunteers from Rosedale UCC are:
Sue and Gary Hughes, Jane and Joe Heide
Volunteers from St. Paul AME Zion are:
Gladys, Mrs. Greer (Lillian), Erskine
Other volunteers from the neighborhood are:
Mrs. Pulliam, Herman Taylor (both members of Mr. Carmel Missionary
Baptist Church) and Lydia
