Hi folks,

Here comes the final plan for the Lake Tahoe rafting trip.
We will have at least 50 people going this time, including 10 folks from HP China visiting HP Roseville campus.
If you are planning to join us but have not notified me yet, please send me the number of people and a phone# that can reach you during the trip.
Please read the following carefully:

Location to meet:
Truckee River Rafting Company
175 River Road,Tahoe City,CA 96145
Note1: there are two rafting companies side by side with similar names. We are going to the one with yellow umbrellas and green awnings.
Note2: parking at rafting launch is limited, car pool is strongly recommended.

Time to meet:
10:00am, Saturday, July 27.

Rafting cost (group of 40+): $24 per adult, $19 per kid 6-12 year old, free for kids 2-5 year old.
Note: we will check in as a group, then each family pay your own cost.
Cost includes raft boat, paddle, life jacket, shuttle bus from the end back to launch.
Each raft boat takes up to 10 people. family of 4 should expect to share boat with another family.

Rafting takes about 2.5 hours, ends at about 1pm.
Tips1: consider bring some snacks onto raft, especially for your kids. 2.5 hours is long.
Tips2: although usually avoidable, be ready to get wet. some people simply wear swimming suit. bring a set of backup clothes, in water-proof bag or leave in your car.

Rule for water fight:
Those bringing water guns, please only attack people holding water guns.

After rafting, we will take shuttle bus back to the rafting launch, then drive to Kings Beach State Park for picnic lunch and beach play.
Kings Beach State Park
Kings Beach, CA 96143

You will bring your own lunch. There are restaurants like McDonald's on the way to Kings Beach.
You are welcome to bring foods (especially those proven good in our previous activities) to share with all others, but it is not required.

Safety:
The rafting route we choose is a very easy one. However, any aquatic activity has its inherent risk.
to participate in the rafting trip, you are fully responsible for taking the risk, and fully responsible for any accident/injury that may incur.
Tips: the rafting company provides life jacket for free. Please put one on. Previously we did see someone get wiped into water by the bush sticking out of river bank.

Time to go home:
whenever you like.
On your way home, I would suggest you to go south on Hwy 89 to enjoy all the beautiful Lake Tahoe views at the vista points.
