To all,
I am saddened to announce that John Lewis passed away today, Saturday March 30 at 3:30pm, surrounded by his beloved family, Worth, John Jr, his mom and sister. He had been battling lymphoma cancer since October this past fall. John loved the river and the batteau festival and wanted us all to know he'll miss us. He was a dedicated crew member of the Rose of Nelson. Arrangements are being made for later this coming week, after Tuesday due to Easter.

We'll post details as soon hear.
Attached is a  picture with John from our our trip down the Rivanna river in May 2009, with a happy John up front.

Friends and Family,

We have just spoken to our rector and set the dates for the interment and memorial for Johnnie Lewis.

The interment will be on Wed. 4/3 at noon at Blandford Cemetery in Petersburg, Va. The memorial service will be at St. James's Episcopal Church, 1205 W. Franklin St., Richmond, Va.

23219 at 2 p.m. Saturday 4/6 with a reception to follow in Valentine Hall.

We are breaking up the services into different days for two reasons, first to accommodate John Jr. and Worth's classmates who can only travel on the weekends as universities are heading to the end of the year with exams and also so that Mrs. Lewis, who can travel a bit but not too long, will be able to attend both services of they are not back to back.

If you have any questions, please contact me.  This email can be forwarded on to anyone you think would like to know about the arrangements.

Joan
